Re: Building a Tusken

I guess our Jedi protectors will have to prove how good they are Rip!

Rob, Krash and Jay Gon had mentioned a Hett costume as well, too funny! I guess I will have to put that in the works some time. I know that there is someone in the RL who has a Hett costume so I can see what he has done.

Re: Building a Tusken

Thanks! Here is a few more. I am essentially done except for the neck can and pics to send in for approval. I tried to get some close ups of the fabric but they are less than desirable. I would had Jen take some of me suited up, but she has to work in the morning and was not feeling good. http://i23...

Re: Building a Tusken

Here is some more of my updated pics. Almost there.......almost there............ I just need to finish a few more things. I am hoping to have pics submitted to the 501st by the end of the week. The fabric I bought for the robe works really well. It's called Hopsack Linen. I plan on sewing it up in ...

Re: Building a Tusken

Here are some pics of how far I got last night. Need to do some dying to day so I can get the hood going. I am very pleased how this is turning out. They are all similar but as Roger and I were talking last night, every one is unique and takes on the personality of the maker. I don't think you can s...

Re: Building a Tusken

Almost looks like a Pink Floyd thing going on in the one pic. For the folks who don't know yet, That's me in the hat, I'm on board the Tusken Train too! (toot toot!) I know bad joke, but it's late. I would be farther on the mask, but had to untangle a giant ball of fray from my duck cloth wrappings....

Re: Paul's Ithorian Pics

Quick progress report. I finally have the sculpting wire and started back to work on the noggin. I should have a full shape in few days or so. Then I can start on the innards. I am so happy that it is starting to really come together. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff290/qui-gon32/IMAG0025-4.jpg...

Re: Paul's Ithorian Pics

Update, yay!!! Bought fabric for the tunic tonight and it is being dyed as I type. Then I will be able to sew it all up in a few days. Pants ( shorts actually) are done. If the muscle suite fails to work for the legs I am going to attempt to make a clay sculpt and have a friend of mine help cast the...

Re: Paul's Ithorian Pics

A quick progress update- I'm having to go with sculpting wire for sure due to weight concerns, but all else will remain. (Shawn, yea, it's carpet padding. Gives it a nice tissue feel.) Thanks for the encouragement troops!!

Re: Paul's Ithorian Pics

For the skin, I will be using a synthetic sued upholstery fabric that has a great fleshy texture to it. I will have to use upholstery spray paint (dark tan) because it is currently a dark crimson.

Paul's Ithorian Pics

This is what I have so far. I hope to have the whole outfit complete October/November time frame. I am stoked about this project! I will however need to switch from using pvc to a wire frame due to the weight. Soon I shall try for denizen of the Empire. If anyone knows what kind of weapon an Ithoria...
