Re: Neck seal
I made my own. Just some plain black fabric, with one piece double the height I wanted it to be and the length equal to the desired circumference around my neck (including extra room so as not to choke a brutha', and overlap with which to actually close it). The second piece is the part that attache...

Re: Armor RS prop master vs theT/MC
For accuracy, green welding face shields. For long hours of trooping that doesn't put a green tint on everything you're seeing (and not under movie-production conditions), or the god-awful hero-type bubble lenses, a simple clear dirt-bike or construction-safety face shield, then apply limo tint. Cut...

Re: Great Lakes Fitness Center
Chronic undereating can trigger appetite suppression, which then continues into this self-perpetuating cycle. It seems counter-intuitive to say "eat more to lose weight!" but it's applicable when considering that a person might not have been eating enough to begin with.

Re: Great Lakes Fitness Center
Thanks, Dan. This was all cobbled together after a couple of years of research from an Average Person perspective (so I left out all the thermodynamics and physiology :)) as well as participating in a pretty good diet/fitness forum with a bunch of people who know more than I do. I should also note t...

Re: Great Lakes Fitness Center
In the realm of weight-lifting for overall strength & fitness (as opposed to bodybuilding), there are 6 moves that are really the only essentials that are needed: Squat -- quads, core Deadlift -- hamstrings, core Bent-over rows -- biceps, shoulders, upper back Pull-ups -- biceps, lats Overhead p...

Re: Great Lakes Fitness Center
Great job, Dan and Ang! Dan, make sure you're adjusting your caloric intake appropriately as you get smaller but more active. Ang, running is addictive (as you can see from what I do ;)). Make sure you have good shoes, too. I need to think about replacing one of my pairs that's not even a year old.....

Re: Sith question
I have a some-what related question. Money is extremely tight and I don't have the money for a approvable clone blaster right now. Even though they are smaller, would anybody really care if I just used a painted Hasbro one until I'm able to get one? I can just about guarantee that nobody's going to...

Re: Sith question
To have it accepted under 501st rules and to get the SL designation (or any other prefix, depending on the costume), no. Custom characters aren't allowed. But if you want to make one up and don't care about the profile photos, ID#s and all that jazz, then bust it up, man! :) While a bunch of folks e...

Yeah, I agree. It actually looks pretty damn awesome the way it is.
It looks like the start of some really great joke mash-ups for the more casual events.

5 miles, @ 8:29 pace. Started out much too fast in the early miles and ran out of gas toward the end. Originally wanted to do 6-7 miles. Weight back down to 153.5, from the holiday high of 158 at the beginning of this month. Still need to shave off 3.5-4 to get back to my fighting weight, with the u...

@home weights today.
One set of squats on my barbell just to see if I can do it without a rack. After one set, I realize that having a rack would be safer
Squat: 10@95
OHP: 3x 10@45
URR: 2x 10@95, 8@95
BP (DB): 2x 12@40, 8@40
BOR: 3x 12@40
