Re: ANH Vader- Submitted! (And questions on TKID Numbers)

Tyler, I received your pictures. Good luck! I hear the guy who reviews costumes is a real jerk! My TKID is my wedding anniversary, because I never would have been able to put together a costume (let alone 2) without my wife's patience with me transforming the dining room table into an armory,...

Re: Question about individual "troops"

Mainly, if there was not an official appearance request, this would not "count" towards your Tour of Duty (TOD) numbers. No biggie. As far as the media, this is an excerpt from the Ops Protocol Survival Guide. I don't believe you would be prohibited from mentioning the Legion/Garrison beca...

Re: Iron Man/Spider Man Needed

Troopers,
I invited damatangelo to post her request up here, as I know some of us also costume as super heroes or have some connection to super hero clubs in the state.
This would be in the Warren, MI area.

Feel free to message damatangelo here or pm me if you can help and I can get you in touch.

Re: New to costume

Welcome, Ebb! Yes, you will need a completed costume to apply for membership in the 501st Legion. I am the Garrison Membership Liaison and will be happy to assist you through the process when you're ready. I know there was some chatter about an armor party on the west side of the state soon, but I d...

These are great, Jolly!

You should check out this website. Some of the pics are redundant to what you shared, but it's a very comprehensive collection of behind the scenes pics:

Re: Tie Pilot Seeking feedback

Hi Kram, I just took a look at your imgur gallery. From what I can see here, the armor, chest box, belt, com pad, and boots look good. Didn't see a picture of the gloves. I would recommend using something like ArmorAll on the hoses to get rid of the "chalkiness" or even switch to a rubber ...

Hi jaehy,

I believe we have been in contact with the Michigan Comic Con folks.

You should be able to see the events section, so keep an eye on the August thread. We would be honored if you would join us!

Re: Andrew's Death Trooper

Looking great! Are you keeping a thread on the Spec Ops forum?

4 1/2 weeks is lightning fast compared to some makers.
850 has a good rep in the Shoretrooper build groups. This is the first time I've seen their DT though.

Re: SEEKING FEEDBACK! 2 Costumes

Your first link doesn't seem to work for me. The second link does, and your costume parts look good to me! I'm not involve in the RL approval process though, so take it for what it's worth. I've seen pics of the ensemble on fb and it looks like a good rig. Get that biz approved and get trooping! [an...

Re: Looking to modify or trade for ANH blaster

Have you posted up on whitearmor.net?

Just FYI, since blasters are optional this wouldn't hold up your approval, and you could even troop with it (except for LucasFilm events), until you get it converted.

Re: OT TIE Pilot Questions

Hi Skywise, and welcome! Whereabouts are you in MI? We have a few pilots running around the mitten. The JRS forum is fairly quiet - I understand the frustration you may have experienced there. I have an ANH TI myself. I'd be happy to take some measurements for you in the morning. My armor/chest box ...

Hey Hollis, I'm interested. When you have a moment, would you mind sending me some pics?

Also, arms and legs are trimmed - I assume - to your build. Can I get a ballpark height for the fit of this?

Thanks!

Re: Shadow Trooper Build

Is there a list of these shady websites that should be avoided? I'm thinking that would be pretty useful to folks. You'll find discussion around reputable (and irreputable) makers on the detachment boards (the links provided earlier). Generally speaking, when you see tag lines like "501st Appr...

Re: Shadow Trooper Build

I honestly can't see enough detail in the pictures on that site to say much else about it. It looks ill fitting on the model, the abdomen buttons are the wrong color, the armor parts seem disproportionate to each other... I would venture a guess that there has been discussion about that very kit on ...

Re: Shadow Trooper Build

Welcome Leonard! I'm the Garrison Membership Liaison here in Michigan (the guy who reviews and approves costumes). Yeah, unfortunately even at a quick glance I see some issues with that armor that would prevent it from being approved. Another concern I have is this: "Our Shadowtrooper Armour do...

Re: Patch Shirts?

I don't normally wear my patch shirt outside of trooping unless it's post-event, but I would keep in mind conduct becoming (or unbecoming) of a trooper when you're rocking Legion logos. I have a prominent Legion sticker on my vehicle, my membership is prevalent on my social media outlets, etc. You'v...

Re: Patch Shirts?

I love my patch shirts! I have two, one each for my costumes and keep the patches related to that costume. They are Dickies or RedKap (same thing) short sleeve workshirts, mainly because I like that look and that's pretty much what I wear normally, sans patches. I don't find it taboo to mix Legion a...
