Re: my first costume..but help needed

I have been "talking" with some members on the SLD site and one had gotten me in touch with this fellow. Anybody heard of him? He is out of Colorado. I took out your link to his site But yes, He is a good guy. Should have no problem working with him. If you the photo on the right of the s...

Re: my first costume..but help needed

I still do not think you are getting it. If you go to wizard world to "talk with vendors" all they can tell you is about the Rubies craptastic Vader. All that is is a waste on money. Any one selling Non licensed Vader stuff can be sued by LFL, in the prop world "Licensed = trashy glor...

Re: my first costume..but help needed

A top of the line chest box can cost 500.00 vs a GT that may be 130-150 Chest boxes these days: top of the line is $275-300 and $100 for an AVA. All more accurate than GT. Luckily Vader has been getting cheaper the last couple years, you can do a top notch Vader for half what it would of cost 4 yea...

Re: my first costume..but help needed

Thanks for the comments! I agree with researching and I will contiune to do so. SO what is my other avenue? I hear that each section of the suit is cast from real molds. So I guess I have find the company that sells new parts and go from there. Lucas.com? I would prefer new rather than used. Thanks...

Re: my first costume..but help needed

Honestly, with something as high end as Vader, it really is best to do extensive research rather than jumping into a "for sale" package. At 5'7", it's going to be difficult to pull off a good Vader (as Kal knows first hand). As we keep saying, do your research and take your time. Why...

Re: my first costume..but help needed...more help needed!

HELP! I posted about doing Galen...and eventually I will. But I want to continue with my favorite. I have been conversing with a guy in the UK who does shows with Mr. Prowse. and he has helped somewhat. But he is so far away. :( I would love to have some help from members who did the Vader outfit t...

Re: my first costume..but help needed

If you are going to do the "white robe" aka good Starkiller, then you may want to ask that question on the Rebel Legion forums. 501st are the bad guys costumes. Since that is a Jedi costume, you would need to go to the RL and ask if that could be an approved costume for membership.

Re: Helmet refurb assistance

What I use for my Fett buckets as well as the TK one I had, was Baseball helmets. Go to target, buy a 10.00 kids baseball helmet, gut it. Once you take out the main parts, it will pop open big enough for an adult. Get some 2 sided velcro and shove it in place. And ur good to go.

You sir, rule! To me, this has been one of the best costume builds in the garrison since I have been a member! Great job!

C5 Wampa!!

The guy is 5'4 and in the suit he is 7'6 Looks pretty good. And from his blog, sounds as if he is a Legion member now with this as his costume! Sweet! His photo build set http://www.flickr.com/photos/itsthatdude/sets/72157623395127817/ Has some more pics on his face book http://www.facebook...

Re: My ROTJ Luke application photos

The glove hand/arm looks a bit off to me. Sleeve looks bunched and the glove looks to big(baggy wise)

And ya, see what you are say'n about the pants. They and the shirt looks a bit big. In the film it looks as if they have a dress shirt and pant type fit. Not the loose look.

Re: Next Armor Party

Replacing the ab buttons, refiting the chest and upper back piece (as well as replacing the shoulder straps that are currently on them) and putting the holster onto the belt. I might wait to do this at the next armor party, but I would like to replace the current strap system used for the shoulder ...

Re: Question on a Character...

Mara Jade has been one of the biggest star wars character since the mid 90's. She is in several books, tons of comics and in tons of LFL commission'd art work. Go sign up for the flag ship eclipse forums. There is a topic on Cadeus right now. As it stands now, it does not look like it is an approved...

Re: Question on a Character...

As for the armor. That is going to have to be something to make your self. As far as I know, no one out there mass makes this type of armor, if it was, odds are there would be others with this costume out there.

Do not let that stop you from doing this costume. It may just take a bit more time.

Re: Question on a Character...

Ok so I'm working on a Darth Caedus outfit. Hopefully I can get it done by time the Star Wars in Concert event happens in Grand Rapids. (having trouble finding the right armor) I'm not a member here yet but am considering it, but I wanted to see what people think of such a character as Darth Caedus...
