Re: Help with props
If you go with the wire as a base and sculpey around the wire, that's what I did for my Leia bikini top (see the link in my previous post for pics). Otherwise, you could try foam core/foam board or craft foam if you want something lighter. *Edit, also, for the sphere on the top of the staff you coul...

Re: Help with props
I do most of my Padme jewelry using Sculpey or Primo clay. You can buy it at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or JoAnn's. You form it how you want it and then bake it in the oven to harden it. Here are some blog posts with some of the jewelry I've made: http://costumesandartwork.blogspot.com/2009/05/padme-mu...

Re: My Bespin Luke
If you get a white cotton one, dying it shouldn't be too difficult. Otherwise you could buy some beige knit fabric and have someone sew you a shirt.

Re: I Give Up!! Seamstress' please!!!
You don't really need a pattern for the jawa. It's just a basic "T" shape with an un-attached hood (the originals didn't have attached hoods).

Re: Helmet help?!
We can give it a try, but I have this feeling we're going to have to create our own spine. We are already going to be making our own of the Ep 1 & 2 spine anyway...if we can find the plumes, that is!

I got it from: http://www.sithplanet.com/ Other than a woman in the UK that is just starting to make some really nice looking helmets (for about twice what we paid for this one...) this is the only guy who offers the Senate Guard helmets, so we're sort of stuck since we don't know how to make our ow...

Re: Helmet help?!
Thanks for the tips on the lens. We'll have to give that a try. I'm not 100% sure about it being fiberglass, but it looks like fiberglass filaments on the inside, under the priming.

Helmet help?!
My husband's senate guard bucket came in the mail yesterday (thanks to a nice tax return!) but it needs a lot of work. I was hoping those of you with bucket experience could give us some tips. I'm not sure if we can correct this, but the spine is very crooked, and the shoulders of the helmet don't l...

That is nice! Patience pays off when it comes to taking your time and getting the best stuff when you can afford it. Can't wait to see more Zam stuff when you get it.

Re: Begining of my new build. Biker Scout
Yeah, that Velcro is weird. I didn't realize it until I went to actually sew it to the 'bund that it was a new kind of Velcro that has both sides in one. I'll pick up some of the older kind, the scratchy side picks up lint easier, but I think it sticks better.

Re: Begining of my new build. Biker Scout
Mike, do you mind if I save the pictures of you with the vest and cummerbund & pouches for my records? I like to have "finished" pictures of the work I do. Your costume looks really good! We just need to meet up sometime so I can mod the closure for the cummerbund for you. I'm assuming...

Looking good! (The Halloween decor was fun, too. I love it when adults get into Halloween, my parents never dressed up or anything. This year the kids & I were ghosts and my husband was Ray Stantz from Ghostbusters, proton pack and all! http://costumesandartwork.blogspot.com/2008/11/halloween.ht...
