I do most of my Padme jewelry using Sculpey or Primo clay. You can buy it at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or JoAnn's. You form it how you want it and then bake it in the oven to harden it. You don't really need a pattern for the jawa. It's just a basic "T" shape with an un-attached hood (the originals didn't have attached hoods).

Thanks for the tips on the lens. We'll have to give that a try. I'm not 100% sure about it being fiberglass, but it looks like fiberglass filaments on the inside, under the priming.

Yeah, that Velcro is weird. I didn't realize it until I went to actually sew it to the 'bund that it was a new kind of Velcro that has both sides in one. I'll pick up some of the older kind, the scratchy side picks up lint easier, but I think it sticks better.
