Re: Need TK build advice

1. Yeah, more or less. When doing fitting you're going to want to tape those together on the side for the correct fitting. 2. Usually it kind of sits on top but overlaps in the corners in some cases. I've never seen a back plate that's shaped like yours, though. So it's difficult to make any recomm...

Re: Armor Party - Dearborn

Did this happen? I wish i had seen this sooner instead of working along in my basement. It would be good to get some help with torso fit. I am working to get something wearable by Motor City Comic Con in May. Here is link to my thread i just started posting to again today. I don't know if it is bett...

Re: Need TK build advice

I am ready to get my torso pieces fit and assembled. Here are some pictures of pieces on me. I am looking for the following: 1. Is the top of the ab plate supposed to align to top of the kidney plate? 2. I have seen some build videos where the back plate ends at the top of the kidney plate. Is this ...

Re: Need TK build advice

Ok. It has been a while, but I have set up a build station in my basement and been working for the last month. I am bound and determined to get something wearable by Motor City Comic Con in May. Then I am hoping to meet up with the garrison for suggestions and input on where I am at. here is a link ...

Re: ANN ARBOR metro area TK armor party

Hello, I have an FX kit that I have stopped and started over the years putting together, but have been trying to find good resources on how pieces should sit when worn. I want this to be year to complete it. I see a lot or posts about how to put together, but few on how pieces should sit when worn. ...

Re: Need TK build advice

I have been keeping a running build post on FISD for my kit build. After tonight I will have my biceps and forearms all glued up. Both biceps and forearms will need heat reshaping to get pieces to look and fit better. Perhaps there has been some plastic deformation over the last 8 years or so... ANY...

Re: Troops "DETROIT STYLE"

Not sure I can make the script as good as "Troops". On the batmobile idea I could write a crossover script of Batman being busted by the Empire. This might be possible to shoot at Hot-to-Halloween as there will be a batmoible there. However this would require Batman and permission from th...

Handler/support staff help?

Under the trooping guidelines, I saw codes of conduct for handlers and support staff. I imagine that this may not always be necessary for every event, but if there was a pool of people that volunteer when they are needed, i would jump at the opportunity. I am in the process of building my TK armor, ...

Re: iOS: Star Wars Commander

If you have played clash of clans, all the base set ups are applicable. You can drop troops anywhere along the border of the grid. At max levels you base will extend nearly to the borders. A tactic to take is any junk or rock piles are sitting off grid, leave them there because that is the only plac...

Re: Where do I find how to fit and size armor?

@brewski: did you have to make the cuts so that the shin pieces would sit lower so as not to dig into your knee cap? i don't think I have the issue of making the shins sized smaller around my calf, I am having issue at the lower end where it meets the boot. I will try to take some pictures to highli...

Re: iOS: Star Wars Commander

I am playing this game as well. I am under Darth Storm. It seems slow to build. Resources seem to come at a very slow pace.

Anyone have any good resource strategies?

Re: Where do I find how to fit and size armor?

I have been looking all over the whitearmor.net and have found how to fit it around my arms and legs, but not how to fit it lengthwise. I didn't mention above, I am having trouble finding info on how to fit the shin/calf piece around the boots. If someone knows where specifically in whitearmor where...

Where do I find how to fit and size armor?

I have been scouring the forums here and online looking for how to fit armor to ones body. By that I mean, I have am 5'8" and about 180lbs. I have seen numerous posts and videos on how to put the pieces together but nothing on how the pieces should sit on my body or fit. I have an FX set that I...

Re: Need TK build advice

@Riopcode. I understand your point that is how the armor was meant to be built. I must have a little bit of Popeye arms, beucase the forearms are really snug. When I put the forearms together back when i first got suit, i used velcro to put them together with spacers. They are still snug maybe becau...

Re: Need TK build advice

I was reading through the build guides at: http://www.whitearmor.net/fisd/Tutorial-arms To avoid using shims on my FX forearms, do you think there would be an issue to butt joint assemble them even though they are meant to be overlapped? If i did the math right, this would give me up to 5/8" mo...

Re: Need TK build advice

Ok. After having viewed a number of videos via whitearmor.net and reading through some of the posts there on construction, I have made a couple startling discoveries. The first is the FX armor dies not seem to kens itself to being made with butt joints. Only one side of the clam shells have the flat...

Re: Need TK build advice

Ok. I can't figure out how to attach pictures, but i did pull out my abs and it looks exactly like I remember. everything is still nice and white. I also noticed everything I have done was attached with white hook and loop. So, I can use all the most accurate joint techniques. Looking at the bucket ...

Re: Need TK build advice

Does anyone know if any of the listed vendors would have an ABS that would match color and gloss of an FX kit assuming mine is still in like new quality without any deterioration over time?

AP and ATA are usually close enough not to notice a difference in most lighting situations.
