Re: Helmet 'upgrade'

repost from FISD: OK, I'm lookin all over the place here, need help! What is the best way to wire up the Hovi-Mix speakers, do I take one black and one read from each, and connect right to the two wires on the uniit? Or do I run these in a series (like, run the red wire from the unit, to a red wire ...

Re: Interest in ESB Boba Fett parts?

RUFFKINTOY FIBERGLASS JETPACK. Ah, my buddy Chuck made this, I go camping with him up north every July! He actually wore Fett armor to camp, with working flame thrower to light the fire, I have to find the video, it's on youtube. Anyway, what kind of cost we lookin' at? I just had a very good frien...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'

Just added rubber trim and speaker aerators. Yes, my brow is low, but I am happy with my new bucket, getting closer to being done. http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/96/l_cae8c485cd1f4e7ea8c214bdd0fcd03c.jpg http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/68/l_7580ade80b474a3b960bc50200c8932f.j...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'

I got my MRCE painted at a bodyshop, professionally, and it looks fantastic! Great color, and very shiny! Here's some pics! It's not done yet, still have to do aerators, lenses, and rubber trim.. and then everything else! TK471 and the soon-to-be-new MRCE mod bucket! http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.c...

From the post over on 501st Forums, from Hyperdyne Labs:

Electronic upgrade package for Hasbro blaster... not going to be cheap, ans while not a movie accurate thing, it's just FUN, and I like that! I like the 'stun' mode!

Re: Is this TK really as good as he says it is??? - UPDATE!!!

You can get a new white FX helmetless kit, and the MRCE helmet cheaper than what he is asking. Then you can build it to fit you. What he said. You build yourself a kit to fit and you get way more personal satisfaction from the effort. I got my FX almost 10 years ago, and if I were to buy another ki...

Re: Goodbye detonator, hello Grappling hook

The resin hook gives way a 1/4 way up the building, the aluminum hook might get you 3/4 of the way so your fall can be more dramatic. :rotflmao:
Yeah, that sounds about right!

Re: Goodbye detonator, hello Grappling hook

How sturdy is the resin grappling hook? I was looking at the machined metal one on FISD (I think, aluminum?). I wouldn't mind changing to a grappling hook box!

Re: Finally getting a blaster I think I can work with

Well, I finally got around to modding my newer Kenner blaster using the folding stock from the vintage one. I was going to get fancier... but decided for now, just to get the stock transferred over. I wanted the folding stock to work, and I wasn't sure how exactly to do that, so I looked around the ...

Re: Forearm mod (keep from spinnin')

I scrapped this idea, although it might work better with thinner foam. I found it better to put a bit of foam on the inside forearm, up near the inside elbow area. Having the foam on the outside piece, was just not feeling comfortable. Like trooping is actually 'comfortable' :rotflmao:

Re: stormtrooper with huge bushy eyebrows?

I've seen this backwards built helmet somewhere online, I'm actually amazed he's attempting to sell without trying to fix it, lol!

Forearm mod (keep from spinnin')

I know some of you folks already do something similar, but this is what I'm trying out. Using 1/2" thick, 3/4" wide weatherstrip, length wise on the outer piece of the forearm. I'll find out soon if I like this, I already can expect to have to replace the weatherstrip sometimes, but a 10' ...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'

I've started to trim the ears, and attached them using 3/4" 6-32 screws with nylon locknuts. I'm still trimming them thinner, but here's some pics of the first fitting. http://www.losminstrelsdeldiablo.com/pics/armor/mrce_new_ears_part2.JPG http://www.losminstrelsdeldiablo.com/pics/armor/mrce_n...

Re: Finally getting a blaster I think I can work with

Well, I got the blasters, and they are fine for being as old as they are (30 years!). The stormtrooper rifle folding stock, is definately not 'realistic', but I can work with it. I'll most likely make it solid (non-moving) on the newer Kenner blaster, as it's rather rickety feeling, and who knows if...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'

Thanks I will take a look, but I have to say, I just bought some new ears off ebay (hey, from same guy mentioned in the thread!), and I had bought a sticker set from someone in Bolivia (yes, that place with the martial law going on right now), I got the stickers just a week before things started get...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'

I just got the hovis removed from the bucket, so I can repaint it... I think I can re-attach them easy enough. Anybody know, what a good speaker would be I could use, maybe to mount behind them, or if there are any out there already wired up? I'll have to dig around radio-shack, I plan to dis-assemb...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'

repost from my FISD thread... I finally got around to cracking apart my MRCE bucket last night. I removed the ears by drilling out from inside, removed the ears and screws, and baggied them up. Opened the holes in the frown a bit, still need to file. This is as far as I've gotten: http://www.losmins...

Finally getting a blaster I think I can work with

repost from FISD: I saw this on that web auction place, and got these two for 27 bucks plus 8 shipping US http://i10.ebayimg.com/06/i/001/09/e3/040b_1.JPG It says the piece that holds the folding stock is broke, but that's ok, I'm going to rework the gun to carry around anyway, it doesn't need to op...
