Re: Helmet 'upgrade'
Thanks, Terrell, I think I'm going to try to build my own system for electronics, so I'll check what's on FISD. I just got my 'knee pads for my head' from D-MAC over on FISD forums, I think they are going to work great! I am debating a 'removable' method for the padding, if I can get velcro to stay ...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'
Well, I just got sandpaper, whooo! Just 220 and 600 wet/dry, they didn't have 320 around my neighborhood, out of stock, so gotta go back this week. Now 'Time' is my enemy on this project, always is. I've been looking at the skullworx electronic helmet package, but I don't know if it's really worth i...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'
Bought another item for this project today, the Squadron MMD White Putty (orange and white tube), to fill in the seems. Slowly getting it all together! Anyone happen to know, how difficult is it to make (or have made) vinyl decals? I would rather use decals than repaint the details, it won't look as...

Re: Begining of my new build. Biker Scout
I've always liked this costume (heck, I like all the Imperial costumes), and this is on my mental list for... someday... interesting color of the helmet, is that fiberglass? Is that how it came, or is that something you put together?

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'
OK, I was debating between hard hat liner, and pads.. and this looks good (well, I'll probably variate from this pattern): http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x155/Derek-Mac1966/PICT0016.jpg A fellow trooper over on FISD has these from the UK (not sure if you need a login to see this, but you should ...

Re: Helmet 'upgrade'
I just bought more parts for the MR CE Helmet upgrade project... the paint! Rust-oleum High Performance enamel (Gloss White #7592) and Gray Primer (#7582). This is going to be a slooow process, because I want the end results to be as close to what a Stormtrooper bucket could be, including the interi...

Re: GLG's Clone Army has a new 501st Grunt
Fantastic, Gator! I may have to start saving up for this kit (and hitting the gym more often, lol!). That particular trooper color scheme is my favorite, I use it on my desktop, my monitor is flanked by those guys, and that kit you have is great! Is that difficult to acquire?

Old beat up pair of Mark Cheng Boots, cheap!
I wasn't sure where to post this, so, here it is... Old beat up pair of Mark Cheng Boots, cheap! Asking $30. Raising money for stuff I need to upgrade my MR CE helmet. I've had these boots for many moons, and it shows. I tried to make them white after they started to yellow, didn't work out so good....

Re: Attaching hand armor and thermal detonators
Here's a picture of how I modded my hand armor. There's a strap with velcro that goes around the palm. The snap keeps the bottom of the hand plate in place.

Re: Attaching hand armor and thermal detonators
For my thermal detonator, I've used the bankers clips, I lined them with soft-side velcro to add some 'thickness' for a better grip. My belt is duck cotton, so it wraps around those. Sometimes, it gets tucked into my back armor (kidney and butt plates are seperated), there's some velcro leftover fro...

Re: tk bucket decals
I could only think that the best way to hide all the seems properly, after filling them in, would be to completely repaint the helmet. I do like the existing decals... just not sure if they can be masked/preserved properly. I could try to do that.

Re: tk bucket decals
Are there decals that would work with the MR CE helmet? I'd rather work with a decal than try to paint them by hand, I already know it would come out a mess.
