Troops "DETROIT STYLE"

one of many things that inspired me to join the 501st is the short film TROOPS, a mocking of the show cops. I always thought of doing one making references and lifestyles of Detroit (something kinda robocop).

Any thoughts on this?

This would be right up Angela's alley, as she works for the Detroit PD.

I would be up for participating in this. Are you going to do a writeup or storyboard?

I am not so much of a writer but I think getting ideas together would be great.

Writing scripts is a hobby of mine. For many movies and my favorite books I have written out movie scripts or extra scene scripts. One thing I can't do is the film editing lol. If you have an idea for a video I will see what short script I can come up with.

so give it a try. Just remember that the scenes have to be in a place that reminds u of Detroit . Something like district 1313 . and it has to be Hilarious

I have some video editing skills.
Otherwise we could find a local place to do it for us, if they'll donate their time.

so as you know there are rumors that the batmobile was stolen by a trooper in Detroit. Any script ideas for this?

Not sure I can make the script as good as "Troops". On the batmobile idea I could write a crossover script of Batman being busted by the Empire. This might be possible to shoot at Hot-to-Halloween as there will be a batmoible there. However this would require Batman and permission from the owner of the batmobile. I am down for doing this, but there is a lot of worked involved if this is something that we want to do. Just a 5 minute video can take months to plan (trust me I have done others in the past)

ok, so how are we going to do this then?

contacting the owners.
If we can get the shoots at the event and then edit it.
we need a camera too. Who will volunteer to shoot it?

Not sure it will be possible by then. There is a lot of planning to do and the 11th is only a few weeks away. We need a script, camera, willing troopers and cast, rehearsal times/ run through's before filming, basic special effects, lighting for the camera (depending on how quality we are talking), staging area, certain times to shoot (nothing is done in one shot hence why movies take months to create). We could shoot improv which would be fun (and was kind of my thought regarding How-to Halloween) with no editing. Really this would just be us "improv" ing a lightly written script for fun. If you are looking to do something a long the lines of "Troopers" the fan film then we would need to do a lot of planing. I am not saying it is impossible, but it would take time.

I might know a "batman" that might be willing to do this. His costume is more the Michael Keaton looking style. Not sure if this thread still has legs.....

Is this idea dead? I am interested in participating. I can be a stormtrooper, I also can help shoot and edit. It is a great idea.

If we want script writing let me know ASAP. I can write a short something. I have a lot I am working on for How to Halloween (trying to have my muppet trooper and rubber chicken ready to go  ) How many troopers are we looking at having. If I am reading to posts right 4-5. For the crossover we need a batman, preferably one of the owners of the car, if they have a batsuit (If you own a batmoible I assume you have the suit ;) )
