ANH Vader- Submitted! (And questions on TKID Numbers)

Hey everyone, so I submitted my ANH Darth Vader for approval today, and am waiting to hear back from John. (Fingers crossed!) I followed the CRL carefully, and have had some great feedback from the folks at the 501 Sith Lords forum, so I think I am all set. That being said, I’m curious how some of you guys chose your TKID numbers? I was thinking birthday or acceptance date for myself, but was wondering how some of you chose yours.

Sweet! I don't think we have an ANH style Vader in the Garrison, yet!

As far as numbers, people use all sorts of stuff. Important dates like kid's birthdays or wedding anniversaries or whatnot. Some others use combinations of cool things they piece together. Other people seriously do not care at all and just say "give me what's available".

Tyler,

I received your pictures. Good luck! I hear the guy who reviews costumes is a real jerk!

My TKID is my wedding anniversary, because I never would have been able to put together a costume (let alone 2) without my wife's patience with me transforming the dining room table into an armory, her support, and her helping me get my financial crap together over the years.

I posed this very question on the Biker Scout forum a few years ago, and the thread is still active. I love hearing why people have the numbers they do. Birthdays, anniversaries, employees IDs, addresses, zip codes, the alloy used to plate vintage BMX bikes, or nothing at all... very interesting stuff!

I looked over the roster and I don’t think you do either! I think the ANH Vader is a really under appreciated look, and I hope to do it justice! Thanks for the feedback on the TKID numbers. I submitted two with my pictures today, and they both have some sort of significance, so it’s cool to see that’s a commonality.

Ha! He’s been good to me so far, must be the fear Lord Vader instills in those who encounter him

That’s awesome. That’s something I hope to hear more stories about once I become more involved. I’ve been told those numbers stick with you for life, so you’ve got to make them count!

And we can always use more Vaders!

Love the order 66 idea. Both of those are super cool. I’m from West Michigan, in Grand Haven.

Awesome! I’m seeing a trend of people who’ve used significant dates for their TK numbers.

That’s perfect, because Vader has been my favorite character since I first saw Star Wars as a 3 year old!

Ha! That’s great. Sentimental and funny. Best of both worlds!

ANH Vader, sweet. I have an ESB.

TKid isn’t as cheery or funny as most, it comes from my first born daughter Faith, who passed away on April 5, 2008. 4508

Thanks, ESB is probably my favorite Vader, but I thought I’d do something that the GLG doesn’t have yet. I haven’t heard back on my acceptance yet (elections) but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I’m really sorry to hear about your daughter. That’s a really awesome and creative way to remember her by, and for a great cause too. It’s really cool to see the different ways people use such a simple thing as a series of numbers.
