I'm not familiar with all the technical terms used for sheading weight or measuring body fat but I will share how I have been successful in losing weight. I do not advise anyone to follow my example because this has worked for me and I am no expert.

My regiment will begin with my Bowflex adjustable curling weights, step-up bench and brisk pace around the neighborhood. In terms of food consumption, no matter what it is, I eat only half. That alone is a biggie. Presently, Cranberry/Crangrape juice, orange juice, milk and water are my liquids. I never have been a lover of red meat, so I won't miss it. Fish, chicken, turkey and pork chops only. I love broccoli and Brussel spouts. Yes, I do eat eggs, but ever so rarely. Mixed green salad with dressing is a plus.

In 2005, I weighed 328 pounds, my heaviest ever. Presently, I am 285. Starting March 1st, my goal is to be down
to 225 by September 1st.

I will begin charting my progress next month.

Good job, Jolly! The only technical thing you'll have to keep in mind is to pay close attention to your body & progress every 4 weeks or so. The more you get accustomed to a diet/exercise routine, the slower the weight loss will go because your body gets more efficient at doing it (like starting at a new job, where you fumble around until you learn the proper and most efficient procedures for performing a task).

Mix it up and change it up when that happens, like I have to because as I suspected last week, that 19% BF was another anomaly (since my showerhead is a Delta, not a Flesh Flayer 3000).

1/7: 160/159/140 (-1.0) (BF% 21)
1/14: 160/156.5/140 (-2.5) (BF% 20)
1/22: 160/156.5/140 (0) (BF% 21)
2/11: 160/159.5/140 (+3) (BF% 19)
2/18: 160/159.0/140 (-0.5) (BF% 22)

Of course, I did avoid the running this week because my right Achilles isn't quite back up to condition. I think I strained or sprained it a few weeks ago at some point and probably aggravated it last week when I tried to run again.

Well, no excuses! Next week is my "recovery" week/plateau-buster, so we'll see how I do then.

Yeah! Another pound gone. It's going slowly, but hopefully that means that it should stay off. Also lost a half inch in my waist!! :)

Not a lot on the schedule this week/weekend, so hopefully I can keep the extra going out eating to a minimum. :)

ARGH! So mad at myself. I was bad last week. Cupcakes, fried food, drinking mixed drinks (I should stick with wine). But at least it was only a pound. I am going to do better this week! Started with a great work out last night.

A great way to start out the month of March. Another pound this week. Signed up for the Warrior's Dash this summer, so gives me something to start training for.

Started up P90X this Monday. You would have thought I had never done it before. I had to bust my butt to make it past the 1st dvd. Oh well, back at it again tonight.

Ugh. I did not get to the gym at all last week. :( I need to stop making excuses to get there. Signed up for the Warriors Dash, so now I have to really get going, so I can train and be ready for it.

Never made it to the gym last week, too much St. Patty's day partying. LOL! But at least I didn't gain any weight.

I've moved my gym routine to the morning, before work this week. So hopefully, that will make sure that I do go and that all the extra crazy stuff, doesn't stop me from going anymore.

Aso started using the treadmill instead of the elliptical machine, in an effort to get my legs and knees ready to start running outside, once the weather improves (need to get ready for the Warrior's Dash this summer).

Since I started back up on P90x, I have not lost a lot of pounds. But just feel better each day then I have been. Got running to do tonight on the tred.

Had a major setback last week when after taking a run on hard cement, I suffered a back spasm Tuesday morning that put me out of commission all week, including having to take two days off of work. The chiropractor put me back together on that Wednesday, but I still had to deal with the residual soreness in the back, so no workouts for me last week.

This week, I'm back to running at the track at Oakland, which is much more forgiving on the joints and bones. After a long layoff, I managed a 2-mile sustained run at about an 8-minute-mile pace on Tuesday, and did a 3-mile sustained run yesterday at an average 9-minute-mile pace.

Not really drop'n the pounds. But I am feeling better (been doing p90x again) seem to have a wee bit more energy.

I know I should get back to running to help keep the pounds down. But do not feel like it. To d@mn cold out still and my knees will want to kick my arse.
