Helmet Fans

Post by Mieal_Deneb »

How do you all mount your CPU helmet fans? Can you show me pictures of how you have yours set up? Especially Royal Guards...we're getting ready to put fans in Jason's helmet, but we're not sure what the best set up would be.

I use hot glue...set it to the low setting, place the fan where it needs to be, then dab the corners. Not a lot. Just a bit to touch the fan and the helmet. Little holds a lot. MY Darth and TK's are done this way. Had one fan die and just plucked it out and installed another in the same fashion.

Hi All

As I am just getting started, is this fan thing necessary? Thanks in advance

Very few people troop without a fan. They're very inexpensive for the comfort they bring and well worth having in my opinion. I've had them in my Stormtrooper bucket since day 1.

I used E-6000 to put mine in. I also added small rubber pieces to the corners to give a little clearance.

Yes definitely, especially with the variable temperatures we have in Michigan!

I am a "two fan" guy, which gives me options, one fan, two fans... or no fan at all!

Also, having two fans gives you a back up if a batteries dies in one, while wearing it.

I recommend Velcro to attach the fans, making it easier to maintain/replace them.

Helm? This isn't knights of the round table. Everyone calls the TK helmets..... "helmets", or (brain) "buckets."

Are you getting Phil's Sandtrooper costume, then?

Excellent. It'll be good to have another trooper around Lansing.

So, you all fix them in flat? Does that allow the air to circulate alright?
