If the volume of the speaker is up too high, that can also cause feedback. Is the mic multidirectional or unidirectional?

the mic is one that you can use in cellphone for hands free use. (its not a bluetooth)

I know when I tried using a cellphone mic on my Aker, it plugged in but all I got was interference. I don't know how well a cell mic would work as they are built to work without a speaker to send sound to another mobile device.

Check out the links posted here for Mics. http://www.greatlakesgarrison.com/forum ... 85&t=13831

Ah, yes. That's the problem. The RS amp is very rudimentary, and that feedback is unavoidable unless it's mounted to your belt. I've had several of those and have tried numerous combinations of placement, equipment, and sound dampening insulation methods. Nothing really works well because it's a very basic item.

Save up some more cash and hold out for the better amp. It'll frustrate you less in the long run. :)

(also, I noticed that you wanted to join a usergroup over at the SWMI forum. I can't manage groups over there because of how the two forums are integrated, so you'll need to re-request over here instead)

How much did your Radio Shack amp and microphone cost you? The Aker MR1506 setup all the Stormtroopers use these days inside their chest plates costs $36 shipped. Some of them later upgrade to a different mic, but the one that comes with the Aker still works fine.
