Planning thread for anyone in the metro Detroit area to plan TK armor parties for building all these incoming Anovos armor kits. Find each other here and plan out locations, dates and times.
Hopefully, at least one existing TK will be at the armor party with their own armor to show inexperienced people what finished TK parts look like up close.

Well the whole point of these threads was for people in your area to create your own dates and locations for armor parties.
Discuss amongst yourselves once more people reply in the metro Detroit section here.

Yes indeed. I have 3 dremmel tools as well as a ton of cutting implements. Please feel free to come. Throw me post here if you are planning to attend. We can get pizza and I hear there is a brewery close by.

I followed that link and it says to complete registration when you have a completed costume. I have a box of untrimed parts

I would like to join you. I can bring an extra Dremel type implement and/or a benchtop belt sander

It's just an application.
You don't become official until
after your costume is approved. So you can fill this out any time.

So what is the plan?
Everyone work on a specific part at the same time? if so, which part?
Or, is everyone going to work on whatever they want?

I still say pick an area and everyone helps each other do all that to completion. Arms or legs most likely. Next armor party move onto the next section, etc.

my goal was not to bring the entire armor kit, if possible.
The idea for me is, the less parts I move the less parts I have could misplace.

It is best to bring everything. If you are worried about misplacing a part, label each part with your initials on the inside. Inventory at the end of the build event.

Most people I know are at different stages of their build. It would be almost impossible for everyone to stay together on their build process. Especially while some are anxious to finish and you never know when the next armor party will be. As long as there is 1-2 experienced builders on site they should able to help everyone no matter where they are in their build.

Just came back from Ripcode's armor party yesterday; three of us Westsiders made some headway on our ANOVOS kits (forearms, shoulder bells, and thermal detonators completely done, and other parts pre-trimmed--BLESS YOU, Ripcode!).
But I'm a total fish out of water when it comes to construction-type projects, so I'm eager to work with experienced builders whenever I can. I know it'd be quite a drive for me (from Holland), but I could use some guidance with adding shims between the ab and kidney plate, as well as perhaps bringing the chest down so it properly overlaps the top of the ab plate (I'm one of the tall guys who's trying hard to make this armor fit!). Is there any more room at the Clawson armor party on Feb. 21?

I am not the host for the party on Sunday, but I am sure that the answer would be... Yes come on out!
