NKOTB-TK Armor Build(FX) Tutorial Question

Post by TK Wolf »

This may be a better question for the FISD forum, but I thought I would check with the GLG first...

What TK armor (FX) build tutorials do you recommend? Use the instructions that come with?

I have been watching "Dave's Garage" TK (FX) tutorial on YouTube and that had been great...any other suggestions?

As always, thanks!!!

The instructions that come with the FX kit are very generic and a little miss-leading.

The FISD is the Stormtroopers workshop so that would be the best one stop shop for lots of tutorials.

Dave's garage is great because of "video" it lets you see the assembly in action.

As far as which is the best thats up to you and your personal likes and diss-likes.

Myself when I built my FX TK I took some from lots of different people and combined them. One trick here one trick there till I came up with what I liked .

Also some mods and tricks are not for everyone. Find what you like and are happy with. In the end you are the one wearing the Armor so make your-self happy.

Oh don't forget , Have Fun. The building of the armor is part of the game.

Ciao

I agree with Dew, have a good time, so many people look at this as a chore. Take your time and have fun. If you feel like you really have to get out a troop right away , see if you can do some NCS till your all finished with your armor.

The instructions that come with the FX kit can be round filed or recycled if the mood strikes you. When I built mine I did the same as DEW, I took bits and tips from several sources and combined the ones I liked and improved on others.

There is a fairly recent thread on the FISD that talks about the FX instructions and alternative tutorials to use.

Good Luck Matt. I hope to be following along in a couple months. I have to finish pulling the funds together( hard to do going in to Christmas season) and then wait for an opening to get my armor. If all goes well, I hope to have my armor and be trooping in time for the Motor City Comicon.

Ok just a LONG distance observation. With so many new people working on armor and costumes in the GLG mabyee some one can have an Armor party? I am sure the new guys could use the experienced help and besides they are fun!
