Wow very cool, great job Jerry! I really like how the bucket turned out, good shape to it. I have been making some improvements to mine the last few days, just some extra weathering is all.

Sleg,

How wide is your respirator? The part you made from the paint cans I mean.

Did you fill it with anything? I'm following your footsteps on this, and I'm worried about it getting crushed. Cut paint cans don't seem like they'd hold much rigidity.

Thanks!

The width is 4.5 inches from rim top to rim top of the joined cans.

I did not fill the respirator with anything...however the .25 inch AL rod does go through the length of the respirator giving it some rigidity.
Surprisingly the duct tape did a pretty good job of holding its form. This alone will not prevent crushing if some smart as grabs hold of it and gives it a good squeeze. :whatthe:
To reinforce it, I did cover it with the same type of leather that I used to wrap the snout part of the bucket. It is leather about the same thickness of a belt and it is glued down around the entire canister giving it some pretty decent strength.

Hope this helps.
