Anyone looking for a cheap Vacuum Forming Machine?

Post by Salius »

Since I'm new, and don't have a canon costume yet, I was planning on making a Darth Revan costume. So, I was looking around the internet for some sheets of plastic or such to use in the Vacuuforming table I am going to build to make the armor with, and happened to find this.

An entire vacuum forming machine, complete with pump and even a heating unit. Not for a couple hundred, or even a thousand. The bid is only at $50 so far.
I'd buy it right away, except for the fact that I have no room in the house or the barn to store it once I won it. :(

Sound interesting to anyone?

That thing is big. It looks like the one they had at a packaging plant I used to work for. We would hook up a 500lbs roll of plastic and let it run.

I hope two GLG members don't end up bidding against each and raise the price.

Putting on my electrician hat ...

You'd also probably need to have 3 phase 277 or 208 electrical service coming to your house (which would never happen) to run it. To try to rewire that thing to work on 120/240 residential power, you'd need to have a 300 amp service coming into your home to have the available power to even think about powering it up.

We now return you to your normally scheduled Jaster .....
