Did a good part of the trimming. It's much better, but still needs a little more.
I'll put the hair on the nose bridge when I get home tomorrow and post a new pic later when the family gets home to take it.

I'll get a full costume mask in a bit when my family gets home (son has catechism). I tried punching hair further in towards the eye holes, but it get in the way of my vision. Maybe I'll try and glue some on like I did the nose bridge.

I am 99% sure I solved my Wookiee roar issues. The guy on the Legion boards that has been selling the 10W and 12W speakers that I have for my Vader no has a push to talk cord to plug into the speaker. I can load the Chewie sounds onto an mp3 player, turn it on random, and let it play. The PTT cord will be down in my glove and any time I want to make noise, I push the button and whatever is playing comes out the speaker - but only when I push the PTT button!!
Now if I could just get the mouth to open the way I'd like!!!!

I am not sure if this has been brought up but how are you going to fix the shoulders?

Just finished my third (and hopefully final for a while) set of feet.
After trying everything I could think of and just not getting the stability I need from my old feet with my tennis shoes, I took Hyper and Humper's advice and use roller blade boots this time. They are GREAT stability wise, but they are GINORMOUS!!!!!
Since I had to build them without the "high heel" effect because of the boot, that meant the front had to be built up to be even with the back resulting in these things being huge - but if they mean I won't break my ankle, I'm good with it!!!

I don't remember roller blade boots . I thought Humper and I both said a " Hockey Skate Boot " ( minus the blade of course)

They wouldn't be so bulky and give great ankle support

Hope its not too late for this

I already had a pair of roller blades. I asked Humper and he said he thought they'd work as well. The boot is not the issue. It's the fact that I had to bring the front up to even with the back which means the slope down to the toes is longer.

OK - the feet V4 are being worked on. The roller blade boots work GREAT!!
What I'm doing now is taking the feet that I had that were HUUUUUUUUUUGE and doing two things:
1) Dropping the toe area just a touch (like half an inch) - I was too flat before
2) Sloping the drop from the boot to the toe faster so the feet are not as long

Image

I'm also sanding them up better so they are not so boxy. I'm adding the hair to the first one and really like how it's turning out. This will be the last foot change - I can FEEL it!!!
The small drop on the toes should also help avoid the Herman Munster walk at least a bit.

I'm getting closer all the time to breaking down and getting a pair of stilts for Chewie. I'm just not happy with the feet sticking out as far as they do.
I found a set of new version drywall stilts that are 15". That is about 5" more than I am now which should make me too out of proportion. If need be, I can always add longer hair to the ends of the arms to make it appear more balanced.

The problem is making the feet to go around the stilts. Having very little skill in this area is making me nervous.

Having both sets would be nice. 1 set for complete accuracy and another set (that you have now) so you can crouch down easy like you do at the fun events. Sometimes those kids come at you full speed to hug you. I wonder how your balance would be on stilts?

I know the guy from New York is on stilts and had a little girl, about 4, and he had no problem snatching her up to play with her. I would imagine it would take some time to get used to.

Now, as far as building the feet.. .hmmmm might take some reading on that one. Maybe you could contact someone who has the stilts and see how they did it?

I found these that I posted on the RL Wookiee forums to get opinions on.

I also found a pretty easy looking way to do the feet as well - provided I can find some latex toes. I'll check with the guy who made my other ones, but he has seemed to disappear so I don't know if he's making them any more.
