Re: Chewie build thread......
My mask builder hit a bit of a minor snag, but is hopeful to have mine ready to ship in about a week. I'm first on the mailing list.
Re: Chewie build thread......
After Round 2 with the thinning shears, I think the pants are just about there (I think - but I could be wrong!! )
I'm still going to add a bit of brown in with the gray (especially in back) but I'll get to that later.

Re: Chewie build thread......
Pants look much better, you can for sure see the dif.
As for being "wrong" the only thing wrong is that shirt you have on! Did a rainbow throw up?
J/k
Pants look thiner around the legs, looks much better. I am looking forward to the ice hawk game, this is going to be frak'n cool to see! I have only seen 1 chewie,1 time. That was motor city 2008. Now the GLG will have one all the time! This is something that the RL and GLG will be proud and lucky to have.
Thanks for step'n up to the task! This is going to be sweet

That's my "Make a Statement Without Saying a Word" shirt - thank you very much!!
The only thing is I'm not exactly sure what that statement is - "I have ZERO fashion sense maybe??"
Thanks guys - I'm looking forward to this more than I can say.

Wow... Awesome work man... I can not even fathom how tedious all the thinning and latch hooking must have been.

Re: Chewie build thread......
I was latch hooking for about 4 months, but the thinning isn't that bad at all!!
Thanks again for the encouragement guys.

Re: Chewie build thread......
Completely unrelated to the costume (which is looking AWESOME, by the way) but the bar I work at has the exact same Detroit Tigers World Series banner. Along with one for the Wings, Michigan football, and Michigan State basketball.

Re: Chewie build thread......
Talked to duck about my mask and barring any last minute mishaps (crossing fingers while knocking on wood with my lucky rabbit's foot - I'm not really superstitious but at this point, I'm not taking any chances) my mask shoud be in the mail tomorrow or Friday!!!
In the meantime I get to do.............MORE LATCH HOOKING!!!!!
I have to hook about a 10" x 24" football shape that will wrap around the back of the mask (I wondered how I was going to put hair where there was not any latex/rubber/dragon skin/whatever the mask is made out of. Trust me - if I can pump out both sides of a 7' costume, this is a piece of cake. I'll post mask pics when it arrives.
Now if I could just get a hold of "our" Duck about my crossbow???????

Brent,
No worries. I'm planning on having it ready to go for the Icehawks on Jan. 30 (if not before). Even if it's done and in the process of being approved by then, I would think I should be able to get clearance from the powers that be to Wookiee up anyway.

Re: Chewie build thread......
Finished latch hooking the veil to go around the back of the mask.
Trying to get some info about whether the mask has been mailed or not without being a pain. I sent him a list of what I think I still have to do to finish to see if I missed anything (and hope he'll throw in some info about the mask) but haven't gotten a response yet.

Still no word on my mask (or from Duck on my bowcaster).
I may just have to start being a pain.
