Jango Build
It's been a slow start and I'm still tryin to pull resources for everything.
Going to be making the girth belt myself; found a supplier through one of the guys over at the dented helmet. Need to hit Rob up and see if he can't help me with the lower portion and some new shoulders; mine weren't cut symmetrically. Got some cold cast gaunts on the way. The jetpack will be the last to be added to the arsenal. Only got a camera phone now seeing how the 2 real cameras bit it and need replacing. Going to try to keep this up-to-date as well as a build possibly for some of it.

PLEASE tell me that you aren't using those MR Jango Blasters for the costume!!! I've been looking for those forever to add to my collection.

As long as you don't have to get any more MonCal parts - that will help!! (oops - did I say that out loud)Thumper wrote:Woohoo! A Jango! Now I really need to get going a bit faster on my Zam!!

Re: Jango Build
Yes they are and I have backup from cruzer in resin when I can finish them; they're a real pain. Been seeing more of them get sold over at TDH suprisingly.Freak Nasty Fester wrote:PLEASE tell me that you aren't using those MR Jango Blasters for the costume!!! Looking very good, and I do believe this will be a fine kit when your done! Good to see a Jango being made, especially one with this level of quality thus far!

Re: Jango Build
Finally set out to finish this helmet by the end of summer and hopefully the gauntlets after the bucket. Problem I'm looking for some ideas on how to correct it is the depth of the visor. As you can see there is varying depth for were the visor will go and I would like to try and make it as even as possible so that the visor will sit flush with the bucket. Suggestions are much needed. Tried a few things but havent found anything concrete to work with yet.
Oh and here are some more pics of the helmet. Almost getting there to the polish and painting step.

Re: Jango Build
What material/kind is your visor? Most I've worked with on mando helmets can take a light heating in the oven. Kick it to 350, check about every 30seconds to a minute tops. It should come out pliable enough to bend in flush. Works best with two people, one to hold bucket, one to place the visor. Also, wear some gloves if you do that, it can get WARM!

Re: Jango Build
If you have a steady enough hand I'd try a fine sanding drum on a dremel to get the visor area an even thickness.

Re: Jango Build
New pics with and update
Been working on the gauntlets and still need to rub n buff them but got the hinge on the left one done pretty satisfied with it. Going to be picking up a man of war arena JP next week, still looking for a wrist rocket wanna go resin for right now, but Darkside on TDH makes awesome stuff and will probably end up buying all metal.

Very. Nice. Looking. Helmet.Terrell78 wrote:If you have a steady enough hand I'd try a fine sanding drum on a dremel to get the visor area an even thickness.
I am totally in thrall to the Dremel tool, but it loves to betray me when I try to do fine work. It always bites into the material (and my ego) at a critical moment. I agree that very fine sand with a light touch could pull this off.
I would suggest the wire cup/disk bits... but... maybe thats too abrasive here? I've often used them for removing remnants of auto weatherstripping, gaskets and polishing pot metal carburetors. However, I don't have any idea what a wire disk would do to that material

Re: Jango Build
More updates on the Fett, got a CC JP coming to me from the other side of the pond. Looks amazing, just got boots in the mail, but seeing how hard they are to come by it's not the exact shoe. And the left gauntlet is 90% done; just need the rocket.

It's been awhile since an update, but I finally got my cold cast jetpack. That's right you heard COLD CAST! Only got it outta the box 5 mins ago and headed to the porch to start sanding.
