All I can say is Wow! JJ nailed it!

Funny thing is, it was like watching episode 4 all over again with different characters.

Saw it 7pm Thursday. I don't think I enjoyed it as much as the original three, but MUCH better then the prequels. I agreed it seems to follow IV with twists. I'm sure I'll see it a few more times lol. Plus it definitely left me anxious for Ep VIII!

I have seen it twice. Loved it! Nothing will beat Star Wars and ESB but I think it falls in right after that. A great new beginning.

Saw it Friday morning (it was work related! :) ).

It was clearly a reboot (as JJ is wont to do) but without the direct and obvious glowing-neon REBOOT sign hanging over it, so that was kind of the point behind all the similar plot and production elements.

It was meant to appeal to both generations -- we who grew with Star Wars already, and now our children who may not have gotten the thrill of seeing it live in theaters.

Loved the EU nods, though.

I loved it. My one gripe, and I know this is probably just me, is that the scenes in the star destroyer and Starkiller Base just looked like they were fan film productions for some reason.

My wife and I saw TFA last Friday. It's been a long time since I've felt such excitement and nostalgia in a movie theater, from the start of a film all the way to the finish. I know a lot of critics are calling it a rehash or cold boot, but I thought the symmetry of the story to the plot of ANH - and, truly, the entire original trilogy - was perfect. Loved it.

As I was saying to someone, it's history repeating itself.

I still need to see it again to confirm certain feelings, but on the whole I was satisfied. I felt some of the humor was Forced (ba dum tiss), but good. The only real disappointment was how they handled Phasma; they had a huge amount of potential with that character and they dropped the ball. The stuff they had her do was totally out of character for someone in her position AND for how they had written her.

Plus I'm glad I'm not the only one who seemed to think this was a semi-rewrite of Ep. IV.

I bet Phasma will have more screen time in episode 8.

Part of me suspects - or simply hopes, perhaps - this movie had to be similar to the start of the original trilogy because the rest of this story is going to be so completely different.

I do hope to see more of Phasma (and Ackbar).

I agree with this.

Captain Phasma was really weak! For being captain of the guard, she should have been ferocious but instead was like a chrome colored kitten.

Apart from that, I thought what JJ did was pure genius. Cant wait until the next movie.

Saw the TFA and enjoy it from beginning to the end and yes Capt.Phasms should had more
scene time to see what she was capable of doing.I'm sure we will see more of Phasma in ep08.
