Handheld Holographic Projector Prop

Hey All:
I've been working on a handheld holographic projector as seen being held by Qui-Gon Jinn in TPM and by Commander Cody in ROTS. I'm working on finishing it for my ARC Clone Commander Deviss, planning on having it done by Halloween. My plan for making this a really nice and functional prop for the costume is to do the following:

1. A cover/housing on the underside to hold the miniature microphone and LED.
2. Mount IPOD shuffle underneath via small piece of velcro
3. Wiring the connection between the IPOD shuffle and LED and microphone contained inside so that when
the "play button" on the IPOD is pressed it activates the LED illuminating a holographic 3.75inch Chancellor
Palpatine action figure and plays Chancellor Palpatines statement of: "Execute Order 66" downloaded to the
IPOD shuffle.
4. So in theory, hopefully to become a reality, with a single push of a button, the recording will play at the same
time the LED comes on, hopefully with maybe a 2-3second delay before the recording plays.

Should make for a really cool effect and prop to show the kids and fans.

One final note, I'm sorry the photo is so large. I attempted to compress the overall file, but to no avail. Hope everyone can see it and get a good idea. If anyone can tell me how to compress the photo even more for ease of viewing, I'd be ever appreciative.

The first pic is a reference from the prop used in the film and the second pic is my constructed version of the same prop.

Brendon,

You had to resize the photo, not compress. In digital photo world, compression and resizing are two distinct concepts. I've taken the liberty and resized the photo down to 500 x 375, since the original was 3,072 x 2,304!

Does anyone know if you can download the recording of Chancellor Palpatine stating to Commander Cody: "Execute Order 66"? I found the ROTS soundboard, but was unable to download the recording to my hard drive and subsequently to my i-tunes. Has anyone actually been able to download just that statement off the dvd to an IPOD, or some other media form to be transferred for the type of use I'm looking for? Thanks for any help.

I know this might seem a bit po-dunk, but could you just play the DVD on your computer and use the microphone record function at the same time?

Someone has done it on the clone boards somewhere, so I know someone has it. If you check there, you might be able to find who has it.
