Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Quick update (no pics):
Primed the bells, biceps, and holsters and hand armor.
Forearms are filled and started sanding, still a bit to go.
As for the ab portion...that's definitely awkward to work with... I've got one side taped and may just trim that then go to the other.

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Okay, in addition to working on thighs, thinking I may try and start fitting the ab and chest this weekend. Any suggestions on how tight it should be? Should it be fairly tight and do the split down the back like kevin shows in the assembly pages on his site or leave it looser and slide it on? I cou...

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

It doesn't matter how much space you have on the forearm. Can you get your hand in and out? That is the deciding factor on how large the wrist hole has to be. Alrighty, that sounds alright then. I've been looking at other people's builds as well and my opening doesn't look much off of theirs. Did a...

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

 sniff sniff...but... okay, done with the pitty party. Yeh, it's sorta hit or miss with the camera. Been trying to avoid using the flash because it seems to be harder to see thing with the flash. But, then it seems to blur more often... Regardless, forearms are not going to be moving around at ...

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Brief update: Stop by the 'rents house to do some laundry (so what, it's free) and tried the forearms with the gloves. The openings are definitely less noticeable. So, long story short I think the forearms are good to go. Any disagreements? Also, cleaned up the holsters and fixed some minor holes (w...

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Its not an issue of fit per se as it fits snugly elsewhere. Just not sure if I should adjust so the front hole is smaller. Then again don't have the gloves on so not sure how that will effect

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Okay, may have run into a snag.

Is this too much of a space on the forearms?

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Alright, brief update but no pics. Visor has been trimmed down, just needs to be bent some to fit better. Pieces for assembling the arms have been cut and sanded. Would have tried to assemble some but forgot glue... Going to try the krazy glue with the brush applicator and see how that works. Also, ...

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Alrighty, managed to hit airgas al lunch, picked up the #5 shield. Definitly thicker then expected, is the dremmel a good choice to cut with?

Re: new build (open opinion)

I've got a few picks of my trimmed OSCS armor laid out in my build thread, right in the first page if that helps any.

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Alright, thanks, that is a lot of help there. I took a look online and it does look like there's an Airgas store location not too far from me. I'll have to go check that out then and see what I can find. Glad for the warning on the gorrila glue as well, hadn't done anything but it's good to know. Wi...

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

Okay, few more questions here. Mainly not sure where to find stuff... 1: Will Gorrilla glue be sufficient for building? I've used superglue for the holsters and it looks to have held fairly well, but wasn't sure if this is recommended for building armor or not. I know I've see people suggest various...

Picking things back up myself here. Would like to finish this month but got a lot to do so that may not be practical. Should a get together happen however I wouldn't be opposed.

Re: Clone Trooper Build the 327th

If slow and steady wins the race... Regardless, I think I've made some decent progress finally in the shoes/boots department. Don't have any velcro attached yet or the straps as of yet.
