Re: Great Lakes Fitness Center
Responsibility, what's that?? >_> Well this past week I fell off the band wagon with consuming pop and fast food. Today I start a new "Weight Loss Challenge" thru work. This is not really for weight loss for myself more of a 12 week constant reminder to keep on track. I have a goal for nex...

Guinevere Costume (WIP) *Pic Heavy*
Okay, so I am working on a new non Star Wars costume. It is Guinevere's battle costume from the King Arthur movie that was released in 2004. Here is what it looks like for those of you not familiar with the movie. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/miradarkstar/Guinevere/KeiraKnightleyforKingArth...

Re: Yuna for Dragon*Con (WIP)
Getting so much closer! Okay I was able to finish my sleeves, the dying process was interesting and I learned a lot from it that I will use next time I have to gradient dye white fabric. *Tip, don't use your fray check until after you dye the fabric. Test dying technique and color check http://i16.p...

Re: Yuna for Dragon*Con (WIP)
Okay so added lead sinkers to the bottom portion of the staff and it helped a tiny bit only. lol But this week I mainly worked on my sleeves and my skirt. I got the skirt back from my mom and need to add the Velcro closure. I will save the painting for this until last since that is just detail work ...

Re: Yuna for Dragon*Con (WIP)
Okay so Woodchuck came through I received the staff pieces back and I went to town on painting and adding Rub n' Buff. I apologize I do not have many progress shots of this because I went full steam ahead on getting it done. But the process I went through was taping off everything but the part I wan...

Re: Yuna for Dragon*Con (WIP)
I was thinking of having someone do machine embroidery for the Obi and skirt but didn't know how to make the files required. Then I thought about hand embroidery, since I have never done that I went with fabric paint. Maybe sometime in the future I can upgrade with embroidery.

Re: Yuna for Dragon*Con (WIP)
It's looking awesome, Anna. I love the paint job on the obi. Wouldn't it have been easier to paint the skirt before the pleats were in? Yes and no, we won't be ironing the pleats until after I paint. But I know the skirt pattern matches up when the pldats are flat and closed as well as connected on...

Re: Yuna for Dragon*Con (WIP)
Time for a progress report. So I commissioned my mom to work on the pleating of the skirt, she has the pleating done but need to do the hem and wait band. (no pictures yet) The staff top I commissioned the ever so talented Woodchuck and it is at the post office ready to be picked up tomorrow. These ...

Re: Yuna for Dragon*Con (WIP)
if you wanted to be totally awesome you'll finish this for mccc. Unfortunately that is impossible. I still have to make the bow, paint the design on the obi and the bow, have my mom finish the skirt, paint the design on the skirt, make the sleeves and gradient dye them, figure out if I want ...

Re: Yuna for Dragon*Con (WIP)
A little bit more progress to report on this costume. For the Obi I commissioned my mom to help put the main part together. I used the reverse side of the yellow satin like fabric for this, added some medium weight interfacing to both sides and added a small strip of pink fabric to represent the pin...

Re: Kaylee Frye for Dragon*Con (WIP)
I have weathered it a little, I am leery to make the tears because when it is opened up the paper pulls really tight and I don't want the tears to spread more than intended.dirty tusken wrote:are you going to weather the umbrella like the pics?

Can't wait to see more! I tried making it as light as possible with using the dowel rod, but I also used a clipon eating for the main piece to be on the safe side when weari...

Kaylee Frye for Dragon*Con (WIP)
Well my other Dragon*Con costume I planned on making was Kaylee Frye from the series Firefly. I didn't take to many WIP photos for this since it was mostly modifying items. This costume is now 99% done except for weathering the coveralls. This are two of my reference pictures to give you all an idea...
