Re: DIY Code Discs
This is from the Code Disk detail page: Imperial Code Disk: A stepped cone shape appearing to be 3 disks stacked on top of one another. Occasionally a 2 stepped version is seen, such as on the Snowtrooper Commander. The bottom disk is 1" (25.3 mm) the middle disk is 3/4" (19.1 mm) and the...

DIY Code Discs
I made some Imperial Code Discs over the weekend and would love some insight. Which one looks the most screen accurate and therefore approvable? They are made from circle mirrors which come appropriately scaled, topped with a finishing (exactly 1/2) or flat washer (9/16 instead of 1/2). I decided to...

I'll be back in March! Also going to Celebration Saturday only. Not sure if I'll have anything finished to wear by that time but Liz's Ahsoka is looking bomb.Ripcode wrote:Hi Bea!

Re: Cracking Paint Job + Left on Read
If you haven’t figured it out yet I used angelus brand leather paint on all my leather and faux leather/pleather (sometimes even just fabric) goods. It doesn’t crack or come off and flexes with the boot :] Hey, thank you so much for the suggestion, I've never even heard of that brand. I'm going to ...

Cracking Paint Job + Left on Read
I've been working on my Padawan Obi-Wan build for the last six months and had it completed and ready for submission, but during the last guest troop I attended (Michigan Comic Con) I really messed up my boots. They were painted with one layer of acrylic paint mixed with a latex medium and I thought ...

Re: Clone Wars Maul + CRL Progress (Also in SLD Forum)
Tabard, Belt and Bracers all finished and ready for attachments, weathering and the embellishments! Since there are no visible stitches in any of these components, I used 2mm craft foam the same way I would have used interfacing if I was sewing. I used hot glue and folded the edges of the upholstery...

HORNS - MAKING, PAINTING
Materials Used: Air-drying foam clay, acrylic paint I thought that sculpting the ridges and dents was going to give me the most authentic shape but I was quite wrong. Carving pieces out of the clay caused it to rip and crumble even after being left to dry for almost two weeks and the silhouette look...

I'm waiting on you to get finished and approved! :) I'm assuming you'll be at Motor City? I was wondering if I could ask some questions about that process. I want to make the most of my time before submitting an application. I'm about 50% finished with Clone Wars Maul, and more like 10% with TPM. S...

TPM Maul WIP
Hello Everyone, I have the opportunity to work with a seamstress on the sewn components of TPM Maul, so I'm starting him as well as working on CW Maul. Whew! I'm in the middle of making a comparative chart using as many different brands of makeup as possible for Maul costumers. That way everyone can...

Re: Clone Wars Maul + CRL Progress (Also in SLD Forum)
Yikes! it has been almost two weeks since my last update and I don't have much progress to share. I graduate in less than three weeks and I have to finish CW Obi to wear in May, so I'm scrambling to get my final papers submitted and my armor painted in time. This weather needs to let up, I can't get...
