Hey All,
I'm still waiting for my official acceptance, but my armor is done. Now I need a helmet fan system, and whenever I ask on white armor, Troopacola chimes in with his system. Does anyone have his system, or ukswrath's system? Hoping to get more people on one side or another to help me with the decision. It appears that troopacola's system mounts in a way that would block some of the ventilation under the chin, as well as making the bucket harder to put on/take off. Thoughts?
Thanks!
Ron

I would recommend either Henry's Helmet Fans, or just get some cheap squirrel fans and do 'em yourself.
The latter would be the cheapest way to go. Just buy some small fans and a USB adapter.

Re: TK Helmet fan system recommendations?
I have Troopacoola fans.
The Troopacoola fan installation is actually a great setup because the switch is where you can reach it easily with bucket on. Switch is mounted solid. To be honest I don't use the fans at all and leave the battery out 99% of the time. If I do I switch them on for 30 seconds to clear fogging then turn them off. They are loud when the sound is trapped in your bucket. Hence the need to easily be able to reach the switch.
I need to find a better way to contain my wires since they get tangled with my headset. Also finding the right battery was a pain. I am not electronics expert so looking for a 5000 mah that might fit using Amazon pics was not fun.
I imagine any fan kit will require experimentation to find good positioning and not dry out your eyes while clearing the eye lenses.

This is a bit of a thread necro but if you want cheap do it yourself. I had the help of Jim Lowry and we knocked it out in two hours or so.

Can you provide pics and process to build your fan system? Or is there a link somewhere?RADARC wrote:This is a bit of a thread necro but if you want cheap do it yourself. I had the help of Jim Lowry and we knocked it out in two hours or so.

Sorry for the late reply. Did you get your fan situation taken care of? If you still want some idea of how we did it I can post a little something.

Re: TK Helmet fan system recommendations?
I just bought a Troopacoola system, and an Anker power source. Unfortunately, I bought the bigger Anker, and it's too big for me to wear that part in the back, and get my bucket on. I will have to troop tomorrow at the Whitecaps with it in the front, and deal with the weight being too heavy in front, but I've ordered the smaller size Anker which should balance out the weight, and I can wear it in back. It's pretty simple installation.
