Knocking the Dust Off

Post by stasz »

Garrison brothers and sisters,

I've been thinking about my TIE Pilot costume lately. Alone, scared, trapped in a dark Husky tote in my basement. And that made me think of the GLG and so many awesome times since 2015...

I have been Reserve/Retired for a couple years and I don't regret that decision. I needed a break. For those that might not know or remember me, I served as a GML for several years as part of a few different command staffs. Life, work, other responsibilities and interests took precedent, in addition to complete burnout. So my rig remained necessarily in the box for a while, and I stepped down from staff and stopped trooping.

I never wanted to be a trooper who just "gets their one in" - I think you can see that reflected in my TOD. But I regret not AT LEAST doing that to stay active duty. So:

I will be dusting off my ANH TIE and re-submitting for approval and return to Active Duty. Andy, Hobbs (or whoever is GML after elections) - expect some pictures from me in the near future. I'm pretty confident I still meet basic approval. Don't gimmie no fuss, I know how this works! 😆

As I've often said, Star Wars People are the best people. I miss this and I miss y'all and the new friends I haven't yet met.

For the Empire!

Good to see you up here, bud!

Just curious…your status on your post says “Reserve”. I don’t think that requires re-approval (if it’s correct). You should just be able to troop to get reactivated.

It looks like our forums only have "reserve" and that is used for both reserve and retired GLG members. Probably something we need to look into updating. But Staz is correct, he is retired as of now, and will have to re-submit.

Yah, he’s been gone roughly 5 years or so, so he’s definitely retired.

Staz's last troop was in the summer of 2023. He was also a GML during the 2023-2024 Legion Year, so not 5 years since he's been around. Either way, we are glad to see him back.

My bad. Seemed a lot longer than that.

Yes. Our forum only has the one, so everyone not currently active gets set to reserve, whether reserve or retired.
