Have you signed up on the detachment forums for costumes that you are researching yet? There is a lot of useful information on there.

Yah, what she said. ;) For stormtroopers, you want www.whitearmor.net. For clones, www.clonetroopers.net. I am one of the admins on the clone web site.

So today I was doing some digging in the 501st website to see how many have completed the Novatrooper medic build. To my surprise you guys have one. I don't know if you guys reconise the number but it's TX 5036. Also I counted the number of regestered Novatrooper Medic's and its at 2 just at a glance. Is this a good thing that there are so little novatrooper Medic's or a bad thing?

It's neither good nor bad. It just means there are two.

Okay guys I'm almost ready to start building. I decided to use Pepakura armor (yes I know approval average is low for them) and build a Novatrooper medic. The plan is once I have compleated a section of armor I will but fiberglass over it using a waterproof resin. I have seen that it is possible to fiberglass Pepakura without ruining it. Another reason I am using Pepakura is since I'm just a rookie builder and this is my first time using a Pepakura/fiberglass hybrid costume I can reprint the section should I mess up on it. As soon as I get the software for the Pepakura system downloaded this weekend I will start working and probly post as I go along to get tips from you guys, "the professionals" of Star Wars. Any advice you can give before I start the build?

Guess not. Well I hope to have the first picture (probably the helmet) up by Febuary or late January.

Most of us have no experience with pep builds.

Correct. I personally don't know a single Star Wars costumer that has built anything with pep.

Well you now know one soon to be Star Wars costumer to use pep. Did a Master Chief and also working on a TF2 Medigun out of pep. Next up Stormtrooper.

So since this is also a concept thread what do you guys think a First Order medic would look like? Or a old republic medic

I am familiar with Pep an it will need a TON of work to look accurate. Unless your concept is blocky and square. Pep for a Master Chief is totally a different realm of costume building than a Star Wars costume.

My original plan before switching to captain Phasma was to have a pep core and round it out with fiberglass

I recommend you do NOT do fiberglass. The weight alone will not allow you to troop for any length of time. My kit is ABS and it weighs 40+ lbs. If you cover yours in glass, the chest piece will weigh that at least. Just an fyi. Fiberglass is NOT a great idea for full sets of armor.

40 lb...that's a lot, you guys make it look light weight. Anyway no pep. Since my birthday is Friday I'm going to ask my parents for the ANVOSO shadow trooper kit. Maybe I can get it by summer, or Christmas. But I just hope that my parents will get it for me on Friday as a birthday gift.
