Well fig I'd toss here incase anyone interested lol. I know its jedi but jedi arn't the only ones who get to play with leather.
And here was the cardboard mockup of my pouch that i made at armor party.
and here it is in leather with various steps
whole front after being cut, beveled, grooved, and first holes for sewing and rivets
the back
closeup
Saturday I will be punching holes for belt loop. I will take measurement and cut the fabric for liner. Then steaming edges to fold into shape. Marking out and punching rest of holes for back so they line up properly. Putting holes in for lid rivet and snap.
After Settled into shape I will be dyeing it, sealing it, conditioning it, finishing the snap, and then glue the liner in and sewing it up which will probably be sunday.
If this pouch goes well I'll repeat for the second one and maybe add alittle details to the outside so it looks slightly different.
Then on to next costume where I'll learn the fine art of holster making
lol

Ok nearly done with the second pouch here are construction pics!
Getting this snap on was a big ordeal. The snaps I have are meant for a thicker leather. Took a little plotting but I ended up using dremel to cut down the posts and through trial and error was able to get the correct size. The top of snap jiggles a little but it seems sturdy.
Here are also a couple shots of how the steaming went thanks Jaster for the suggestion
Went ahead and dyed the inside and then the belt loop straps
Dyed the outside. Dried.... Dyed... dried... sealed.... dried... sealed some more.... lol
Finally able to attach the belt loop straps
Put in the liner. Didn't get photos of that it was abit on the intense side trying to make it all fit. I will take pics for the third pouch.
Sewed up the sides
Made sure the rivet holes at the top stay open till I can set them
Front View of nearly completed pouch
Inside view of pouch with liner
So just need to set rivets on sides and on lid tomorrow and condition the leather and its all done.
Inbetween the dying and drying I got the 3rd pouch prepped.
There ya go

Started around noon stopped around 1 am lol I did eat lunch and dinner so no worries.

Ok final post for pouches yippee
This is mostly just showing how I did the inside liner since I sorta didn't include it in the pouch 2 pics.
Ok starting lining up one end trying to be sure its centered
The top glued down
Cutting down in the creases with out cutting beyond the fray preventer. Very tricky spot to do to get all the folds right without getting too bulky for sewing later
Ok cutting done and glued the sides down as well as the inner crease to prevent the satin from shifting too much
More adjusting the seams and gluing them as well as the fold points at the bottom of the pouch to keep that down and in place.
A straight on view shot
Now glueing down the sides being sure to stop so I can fold down the last seam and hoping it meets where its supposed to at the top
Sewed the sides up and now the completed view
As my 2nd pouch seemed abit wide at the top I modified this one to be more streamlined so here is nearly completed pics of it just need to install the rivets above the sewing.
and no I dont know why there are glowing dots in the corner of this one
One percaution learned its a bad idea to slip while pushing a rivet stud through the hole sliced a nice hole under my nail in doing the lid rivets. Lesson learned
Now that its all done I'll be doing final pics with belt and then full costume to get my approval done so I can start trooping um rebelling lols
