I looked at Lowes, Harbor Freight, and Ace with no luck. I am done looking for the day.

Where in the Garden City area can I fend a flexible welding shield to replace the green lense that came with my AP helmet?

I know I can get them from a few guys on FISD but I should be able to pick one up locally. Thanks!

I picked mine up at a local ACE hardware but they also have a lot of welding supplies on hand. It is called Ace Union Fire here in Monroe right off 75.
If you try a welding materials supplier you might have some luck.

Another option is to use a dirtbike faceshield and window tinting film (both available at Meijer, in sporting goods and automotive, respectively).

I just applied the tinting to one side of the faceshield (the darkest available), and then cut out a single rectangular piece to cover both eye holes. Hell, it's even held in place by regular ol' black duct tape (with the tint side inward), so for cheap and low-tech, there ya go!

And it wont be so dark you cant see anything when they shut the stage lights off at a concert and you go wandering around like a blind man! the dark welders lenses are great in a bright summer day event. I want 2 helmets so i can swap em out depending on the Light level!

They don't carry the #3 but had one laying around so gave it to me for 7.50. He said if anyone else needs one call a couple days ahead of time and he can get one for you. I believe they are 13.50.

I made it so it extended past the eyes and it is held in with industrial strength velcro so I can change it out at any time. The cheap AP lense will come in handy at night time or I may consider the dirtbike face shield idea.
