I was willing to get rid of my ROTJ Luke costume (even though I only recently finished it) because I was putting together THIS...............

Say HELLO to my little friend!!!!!

The pants were loveingly made by our own Rachel Orange.
Needs some weathering I know, but it came together pretty well, I'd say.
What do you think?????

I would take the top to a seamstress to have taken in. While the pattern looks correct to me (mind you I am not an expert in Rebel stuff), it looks really big on you. I would have a seamstress take it in a bit to have a better fit on you.

See how it is more fitted around the waist and in the shoulders.

Also looks like your saber should be on a different hook.

With those alterations, I think it will be a better looking costume on you.

First off let me say I know jack about this costume.

That being said, it looks like the shirt is not the same color as the pants. In your pics it looks darker then the pants do. Also the pic Brooke posted of Luke looks like it is a 1 part costume, pretty sure it is not since in the movie he had the top half off. But it does give the appearance that it is one part like a jump suit kinda thing, your you can tell that it is not. It may just be that it needs to fit you better like Brooke said.

I see what you mean about the saber holder, but what I have is the recommended clip attached the recommended way so that much at least is staying.
Seeing it all together, I agree about the shirt as well. I'll see about getting it taken in a bit.

Anyone else good or bad??

Besides that you're a tad older than Luke was while he was on Bespin?

 The more I look at the Luke pic the more it looks like a flight suit. I can not see where the shirt ends and pants start. Sure look like there is a seem between the two.

It's just that particular pic. It's definately 2 pieces because it's the same pants he wears on Dagobah with Yoda. I can do that costume as well if I can ever come across a beige muscle shirt (you'd be amazed how hard those are to find). I think if I can get it fitted better it will help a great deal with the overall look.

Looks good Chris! I have a photo in the Making of The Empire Strikes Back book that shows Luke without the top shirt/jacket. The pants are almost like overalls. They have suspenders and come up to just below his chest. I will try to scan and post it. How did you make the boots, or did you get them somewhere?

The boots are old man bedroom slippers (so they're REALLY COMFY!!!!!) that I contact cemented suede on top of to make the sides, the front, and the straps which velcro in the back.

Do you have the accurate torn T-shirt and suspenders for under the jacket yet, Lumpy?

Not yet.
You'd be amazed how hard it is to find a plain beige shirt. :whatthe:

He was pulling your leg, Chris...meaning the look that Mark is sporting in the picture.

I gotta think these were for when he was doing his own stunts, like handstands and twirling between vines. The "real" costume has a beige shirt under it with no suspenders.

Well - either way, I'm having the hardest time finding a beige muscle shirt. I'd even take a plain beige T-shirt (no pockets, no markings, etc.) and take the sleeves off, but I can't even find that!!

I'm about ready to get a white one and just dye it as best I can.

And for the record - I couldn't see the photo at work!!

Take a plain white shirt and sweat in it for a while. That'll beige it RIGHT up!

If you get a white cotton one, dying it shouldn't be too difficult. Otherwise you could buy some beige knit fabric and have someone sew you a shirt.
