For those of you that have used welding visors for their helmets can you tell me what shade you used? I'm assuming it's #3 or #5 but not sure which.

A 3 or 4 is good. If you go with a five, you might have a hard time seeing in dim lit areas.

Here are the ones I put in all my helmets. You cant see in and they are very flexible and cheap!!

Thanks, I was thinking the 5 looked way too dark.

There's actually a welding supply shop around the corner from our office. I can get them there for $10-$12.

I've had 3 and 5 in different helmets. I like the 3 much better.

If you buy them off the ebay site, you can get them for $21 shipped and get 5 of them. The last order I got took 3 days to get in. IF that helps.

If there is an AirGas near you stop in and look at the different shades and brands. Most shields run under $5.
