Darth Maul - Am I Close?

I have only done the front of the face, so you only see the front five horns. I know the three horns on the forehead need to be aligned more symmetrically. I know I am missing two diamond-shaped markings along the vertical axis that runs along the nose.

I hope this is close to approval level on the face makeup since this is about as good as I can get it. I have not made the costume or obtained the double light saber yet, as I would like some sense if I should proceed or if this just isn't going to get approved. Thanks

It looks good to me. Aside from the things you mentioned(nose diamonds, horn placement, etc...) the only thing I see is the area around the eyes. You will need to blacken that area a little more too. I'm sure as you get more practice and get help, it will turn out even better.

Contacts are not required but would really add to the look.

I am happy to another Maul in progress, it's a unique costume you just don't see done enough(for the obvious make up/shaved head commitment.)

And on second view of your picture.... it looks like a mug shot with the way you are holding your ipad.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess my choice as a bald dude is either this or Lobot (and who remembers him).

I took this picture with my iPad and had to hold it in an usual angle to get it to capture my face. Wanted to do a few other facial shoots from different angles but can't by myself. Wife won't take the pics; says that I creep her out with this look. Plus she is getting pissed with the huge mess the make up leaves in the bathroom sink and I keep borrowing her eyeliner. Needless to say, she doesn't think this is something to brag about to her friends.

This took about an hour and a half to apply this much of the face pattern and I estimate another 45 minutes to do the other five horns and the back of the head. Local costume shop is having me use professional grade make up and not the cheap stuff they sell at Walmart at holloween.

Will keep working to perfect this and hope to have a more polished look soon to post.

Great look. I'm also looking at doing a Darth Maul because of being bald. While I'm working on finishing my phase II clone I wanted to find another character to do. In getting started I wanted to find out what you are using for the horns? Any help would be great. I look forward to seeing your progress.

The latest....

I had been in costume for over 7 hours when these photos were taken so the makeup had started to come off around my neck. The zipper on the inner tunic can be flipped to the inside so it can't be seen; I was just so damn tired at this point that I forgot about it.
