ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
As many of you have heard, Anovos has announced their TK armor set. in both completed and in kit form.
In case you haven't heard...
http://www.anovos.com/collections/star- ... -pre-order
$350 for the kit is EXTREMELY tempting, and it looks like it is pretty complete (i'm no expert). I understand that it may need some fitting, but it is really tempting. That would mean that my Scout Armor project (yet to start) would be put on the back burner.
Ideas? Comments? Pity?

Re: ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
It seems to good to be true. A kit with a completed helmet for $350? I just verified it but this price is unheard of unless it's a mistake or we are missing something.
I have a feeling the $350 is a required down payment but they aren't making it clear.
Edit: I just read all the fine print and it seems legit.

Re: ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
In my 16 years of being around this stuff, this is THEE best deal I've ever seen on ABS movie styled armor that could be used as a TK or with very few mods, a TD. Every normal vendors raw kits cost hundreds of dollars more than this and are raw kits. This one is a raw kit as well....BUT they already build the helmet for you, and also include the gloves, undersuit, neckseal, canvas belt, and holster. Unreal for this price range.
Only thing it's not coming with is boots and blaster, because they don't have the footwear or weapon license. Just like on all the other costumes they sell.
It likely will take them quite a while to ship the suits out, but if you wanted a quality suit at really cheap pricing, it's a smokin' deal. Order before May 4th when the prices go up.

Also of note, this will not ship until next winter and could possibly be delayed. Considering the interest in this price, delays would not be a surprise to me.
If you are already working on something, you may want to continue with that and place the pre-order.

No it didn't. $1,200 is the pre-order price for the fully built costume. Hit the drop down menu. The kit form one with completed helmet is $350.Herbie wrote:I think it already went up. When I clicked on the link the price tag is now $1200

Hmmmm
I have been doing a lot of reading since posting this. Specifically on TheRPF and on Whitearmor.net. I have some things to think about.

- The price is VERY TEMPTING
- With Shipping due in Winter 2015, that means my goal of having approved armor for EpVII Premier is completely unattainable.
- I was thinking of doing TB armor as my first amor set. I like the TK armor but I was trying to do something a little less mainstream.
- money is tight right now

It's a mix and match from a couple current armor makers.
Also I wonder about the thickness of plastic, if you look on the straight on helmet shot there is a crease in the mic tip cup. That only happens when the plastic is very very thin.

Ok, ok, ok. I'm Weak. I pulled the trigger.
With all the info I got from here, Whitearmor.net, and the RPF I decided this deal was to good to pass up. Soooo, need less to say, I may need a hand in assembling this puppy in about 8 or so months.

Re: ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
Facebook has already told me this week that 3 of our GLG members ordered this armor set so far. Wonder how many more of these sets we'll see rolling through these doors someday when they ship? That price is just too insane for a full TK costume, minus boots and blaster only, so I can see people jumping on it as they have been!

Re: ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
As I said, I've been watching threads on the RPF & whitearmor.net and it is utterly amazing how many peeps said they were ordering this. There is going to be a flood of new TKs coming this winter.
I wonder if Anovos is going to share the sales numbers for the pre-sales?

Re: ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
I'm torn about jumping on this.... I wanted to get a TK armor ready by episode 7 release but with the "2015 winter" shipping date I'm nervous that I wont have the time to get it ready. But that price is just unbelievable.
Re: ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
When I spoke to them at Celebration they said they would be working on them soon. So they might come sooner if you order sooner.

Re: ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
I need to make a quick $350 now.....I was hoping to start working on something for the 501st after I joined RL.
This may be what I go with if I can get the cash together.

Re: ANOVOS = Argh! (now I have to make a decision)
Says .90 gauge ABS. I know that's the same thickness that both MC and DL list for their Snowtrooper armor. But I don't know off-hand what thickness all the TK vendors normally use.
