TK/DZ-866 and TK-4408 troop their 100th events!

Congratulations to Roger "Rockdog" Rehman TK/DZ-866 and Craig "Hyper" Provine TK-4408 on trooping their 100th Tours of Duty with the 501st Legion! Roger is one of the GLG's veteran troopers that has been a member since 2003. Craig has been one of the GLG's most active troopers since joining our ranks. He reached this milestone in only 15 months with the Legion. They become just the second and third Great Lakes Garrison members to troop 100 events.

The Great Lakes Garrison wants to send their best wishes to Star Wars artist and great friend of the 501st Legion Chris Trevas and his new bride, Julie! They were married this past Saturday, with a couple local stormtroopers helping entertain their guests.

One of the highlights of the evening was the amazing groom's cake- a tauntaun sliced-open with Luke sticking out of it! The cake was made by Courtney Clark (Food Network), owner of Cake Nouveau.

Announcing a new program for the Great Lakes Garrison: Featured Trooper of the Month.

This new FTOTM will be a spotlight on a particular GLG member each month. We will be selecting members at random and that member will be featured on the main Web site for the month.

October '09's featured trooper is the person who suggested the program in the first place: TX-1332, Tiffany "Cujo" Murphy

Sun., 2/21: Ypsilanti Symphony Concert (Ann Arbor, MI)
The 501st Legion will appear with the Ypsilanti Symphony during their performance of a selected Star Wars song. The performance will be at the Towsley auditorium in the Morris-Lawrence building of Washtenaw Community College, 4800 E Huron River Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48105

Sun., 2/21: Lasertag Event (Clinton Township, MI)
Come play Lasertag at Laser Edge USA against the mighty 501st Legion and help those in need at the same time. We will be conducting a can food drive at the door, so bring your best game and some non-perishable food to 35335 Gratiot, Clinton Township from 1pm to 4pm.

Sun., 2/28: Warren Symphony Orchestra (Warren, MI)
The 501st Legion will appear with the Warren Symphony Orchestra during their performance of a selected Star Wars song. The performance will be at the Warren Woods Community Theater, 13400 E. Twelve Mile Rd., Warren, MI 48088

Sat., 3/6: Grand Rapids Griffins Star Wars Day (Grand Rapids, MI)
The AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins invite the 501st and Rebel Legion back for another Star Wars night to benefit the Griffins Youth Foundation.

Sun., 3/14: Detroit St. Patrick's Day Parade (Detroit, MI)
The 501st and Rebel Legion return to the Detroit St. Patrick's Day parade along Michigan Avenue in the Corktown district.
