Sterling Height Library event in STAR WARS Insider magazine

Our 2009 event at the Sterling Heights Public Library made it into the latest issue of Star Wars Insider. The story and photos are located in issue # 115, in the Bantha Tracks section on pages 76-77. The library's next Star Wars Day is scheduled for Saturday, June 19, 2010.

GLG and fangirl Kristen Bell in today's Oakland Press

The Great Lakes Garrison is highlighted in the February 9, 2010 edition of The Oakland Press in a story by Ilissa Gilmore. The article titled "Royal Oak actress in ‘Fanboys’ raises funds for two charities" focuses on our charity work with actress Kristen Bell. The charities benefiting were CARE House and Clarkston SCAMP. TK/DZ-866 and TK-4408 troop their 100th events!

Congratulations to Roger "Rockdog" Rehman TK/DZ-866 and Craig "Hyper" Provine TK-4408 on trooping their 100th Tours of Duty with the 501st Legion! Roger is one of the GLG's veteran troopers that has been a member since 2003. Craig has been one of the GLG's most active troopers since joining our ranks. He reached this milestone in only 15 months with the Legion. They become just the second and third Great Lakes Garrison members to troop 100 events.

Wellness Foundation 14th Annual Benefit Hockey Game with several other kids activities and a visit from the 501st Legion.

A 1 hour Children's Library Program for children of all ages. Mount Clemens Public Library (children's program) at 150 Cass Ave. Mount Clemens, MI 48043

Sat., 4/24: Sterling Elementary Star Wars Saturday (Carleton, MI)
Sterling Elementary, a part of the Airport Community Schools, is planning a Star Wars based fund raiser with all proceeds used to purchase books for the Guided Reading Book Room.
