Welcome! Feel free to ask questions here, we have plenty of people who can help. Also, if you haven't already, make sure to register on the https://forum.mepd.net/ detachment forums. That is where the experts to the Sandtrooper costume can be found.

Re: Visiting Trooper from Golden Gate Garrison
As far as time, I can likely get on the road around 4pm. A coworker gave some suggestions for downtown restaurants and I'm also down to carpool for those of us coming from the suburbs to make parking easier once we get down there. Joel, any favorite types of foods or restaurants you've had your eye ...

Hey Joel, welcome to Michigan! Assuming no symptoms of con crud manifest from last weekend (so far so good), I'm still down to meet up Thursday evening.

Re: Visiting Trooper from Golden Gate Garrison
Good deal! I was going to suggest April 3rd, but that is the home opener for the Detroit Tigers, so it might be best to avoid that day. Let's see if we can get a few others to tag along and we'll see where and when works best.

Re: Visiting Trooper from Golden Gate Garrison
Hey Joel!
I'm not terribly far from Detroit and would love to meet up. I want to double check your dates though. Are you going to be here end of March/Early April or End of April/Early May? I'm available most evenings except Mondays, so let me know what would work best for you.

Re: New member
You purchased the armor, yes. But there are also boots, gloves, base layer, tips on assembly, etc. There are multiple ways to go about it and some may work better for you than others. I'm just trying to help you by showing you the different resources available. It sounds like you are off to a good s...

Best advice I can give, especially if you're building a stormtrooper, is to register on https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/. The people over there are experts in the subject and the website has 20+ years of knowledge and recommendations to help make sure you don't buy from unreputable vendors.

Re: New member
Welcome! What kit did you purchase? We are having an armor party in the Novi/Wixom area mid April. I can send you the details if you are interested. I can also give you NCS forum access if you are interested in doing that until you finish your armor.

Re: Knocking the Dust Off
Staz's last troop was in the summer of 2023. He was also a GML during the 2023-2024 Legion Year, so not 5 years since he's been around. Either way, we are glad to see him back.

Re: Knocking the Dust Off
It looks like our forums only have "reserve" and that is used for both reserve and retired GLG members. Probably something we need to look into updating. But Staz is correct, he is retired as of now, and will have to re-submit.

Re: What is this called?
This style of website is called a "forum". And that's about where my technical knowledge ends in terms of how to set one up from scratch. I know a lot of people are switching to Discord because it doesn't require as much technical skill to setup. I've heard that you can organize a Discord ...

Re: Boots
I recommend checking out Crowprops or Keep Trooping. Keep Trooping specifically offers a complete TIE Pilot Reserve set. Another good resource is the Jolly Roger Detachment. That will be your best resource for all things TIE.
I hope that helps!
