No your right.. they are no joke. I have pinched and split my fingers with the 3/4 x 3/8 ones I have for my handplates. If you get to the 3 and 4 inch ones, they will crush bones.. Also, they will mess with pace makers as well.

Re: Jackie's Thire Build a.k.a. "Making Salsa"
ok Note to self done get the 3 or 4 in ones to attach the face place to a clone helmet!!
On another note I am Moving back to Michigan in March. We can start building that Vacuform machine for your Mancave and I can dig out the Clay to fire up some creamic molds for armor or other parts like DC-17 parts? The molds won't degrade like other materials. Pull 1 will be as clean as pull 500.

Hooray Duck is coming home! I can give you back your bag you left here on New Years. If he hasn't read this already Tony will be SOOOOO excited to start working on a Vacuform machine. He wants one VERY badly! Something to keep him busy...Ducktrooper wrote:On another note I am Moving back to Michigan in March. But maybe I should make him finish my armor first

Re: Jackie's Thire Build a.k.a. "Making Salsa"
A little more progress...slowly but surely! Tony will post pics later but I actually got to put the armor on yesterday! WOO HOO!
Some adjustments still need to be made to fit me...
The elbows and knees need to be trimmed down some more - still too big and bulky compared to the other armor parts.
Biceps are now seamless and ready for the final coat of paint
Forearms are seamless and ready for the final coat of paint
Buttplate has been fit - just need to secure it in place
Chest armor is fit - just need some velcro on the sides to hold it shut
Need the straps to hold up my thighs
The straps to attach my shoulder bells
I'm sure he'll post more of what is needed...that's just the list off the top of my head after putting most of the pieces on last night.
Oh - and the shins - still trying to decide how to get them on my body. Had a thought this morning - I'm going to need to eventually put my shoes on my feet so I'm thinking that if the shins have the reliable o' velcro closure down one side, back, whatever...that will allow me to put on my shoes first, slip on my thighs and knees and then put on my shins. He's still thinking spoon or something...whatever...
Definitely making progress! Think I made Mow a little scared last night!

I do thighs then shoes then shins for my TX. There is nothing wrong with putting Velcro down one side. Wags will be able to make it look seamless.

Re: Jackie's Thire Build a.k.a. "Making Salsa"
Thanks Cujo!!
Ok, so evertything she said plus some....
Hand plates, cut and ready to attach with magnets to her gloves...
Forarms done.
Biceps fit and ready for red stripes.
Elbows and knees have been recut to fit her child size frame... really, I think thats what Im making....lol
Chest/back just needs some tweeking and a bit of trimming and velcro.. and whallaaa!
Shins... Have to finish gluing the second one. They are so small, I have had to tape and clamp them together to get the shape before I finish them so Im not fighting the curve. Its been about a week now so I will get them glued up tomorrow and painted.
Shoes just need to have the straps added.
Cod/ab/butt still has to have a fancy snap system added, no big deal, and some velcro.
Shoulder bells need some padding.
Helmet needs padding so its comfy for her. I have it just need to add it.
Belt. I have it done just have to cut the extra length off and fit it to her and her thermol det.
And a strapping system needs to be attached, but I have that figured out and have the materials, just need to finish the final goods!!
Oh, and i need to finish her blaster, but... she doesent know that I am going to make her use a BFG cause it looks better!!!!

Re: Jackie's Thire Build a.k.a. "Making Salsa"
Ok, so I added snaps in her:
Shoulder straps (chest/back plate)
shouder bells
Biceps
Thighs
Just have to put it on and continue with the straps/snaps to attach everything. I started the strapping system, just have to wait to put on the other side!!
Mangets all glued in her handplates. Second shin/calf glued up and will be ready for paint tomorrow. The chest is trimmed and now completely ready to rock and roll!!
I added some snaps to her but plate and will fit it up with her cod tomorrow night.
I do have to make her a TD, but it should only take a couple of hrs. Im going to make it the same way as mine, but with magnets inside so she can use it easier and attach it easier as well.
All painting is done, just have to beat it up a bit. Thats the really fun part!! All in all, she should be ready to go by the beginning of next week
