anyone know of a store somewhere around the cheaterfield/port huron areas that sell these? the only ones i found were at radio shack and they seemed too small to use (3/16 inch wide).

Re: rare earth magnets?
Don't know what you're looking to do with these, but you don't need really big ones - THEY ARE STRONG!!
I used ones in science class that were about 1 1/4 by about 3/4 and I actually dented a metal door sticking the magnets to it. They claimed one that size would pull a metal filling out of your tooth, but I didn't try it (for fear of them being proven right!!

I've never heard of a local shop that sells them. Most everyone gets them online.

I think I found some at Harbor Freight before, but definitely better choices online. Here's a link to one of the two sizes I got:

I believe that place accepts money orders too.

Also, check out Home Depot. They recently started carrying the rare earth magnets as well.

They don't list them on the site yet, but I know for a fact that the Chesterfield Township store sells them as well as Macomb and Utica.

Re: rare earth magnets?
don't have the box anymore, so i can't give you exact numbers. they were about the size of a dime. didn't work out too well. thinking of just keeping them in and adding the velcro back on. the trouble i had with velcro-only was that the pieces wouldn't stop shifting. hopefully, the magnets will solve that problem.
