Boots for TIE Pilot

Been looking for boots for my TIE Pilot and wondering if anybody had any advice? I know Jack boots are the authentic route to go, but a little leery about them fitting right. I've heard of some people buying engineer's boots and just cutting off the strap.

Any input would be much appreciated. :D

I know the ankle strap would have to be cut off.
