I got home yesterday and found my ATA armor waiting for me. It took seven months but It's finally here.
I've read a ton of build posts on the FISD forums but It was still really overwhelming when I opened it up. Not sure what I've gotten myself into so I guess I'll just take it one section at a time.

Take it slow, one part at a time. Most start with the Biceps and smaller armor first. Helmet can be difficult with ear pieces and screws (note I am not an expert by any means and my "bucket" was built by another member) Best of luck with your build. Be sure to post pictures here and FISD to get building advice

I've been using that one as well and it's been really helpful!
I started the helmet a little while ago and I'm making some progress. I now understand why people hate the ears as I spent close to three hours just trying to get one side trimmed. I still have a gap in it but at this point I don't care. I was ready to throw the thing through the window.

Thanks! I saw you guys at the Great Lakes Comic Con a couple weeks back and I can't wait to join you all when I'm finished.

Some ear gap is actually screen accurate. Try and get it as close as you can, but if it's off a little, it's still normal.

Just be sure not to cut the ears completely flat
I have seen a few friends do that and had to order new parts. Golden rule: Measure twice cut once

It's a good thing that ATA includes 2 sets of ears ...

He does that as so many people goofed their first set, it made sense just to have (2) sets in the kit.

And thankfully he did, 'cause I screwed up my first ear ...
