I am about to replace my vader "orange" lens for the "smoke" ones and my question is how do
you remove the existing glue with out damaging the inside of the helmet.
If it's hot glue, it can be peeled off, although it may take paint with it. Another option is to use your glue gun to heat up and soften the glue and then slowly remove it that way.
Got the old glue off and put in the new lense in took about 30 minute to do it (thought about the hair dryer
but went with the first post) lucky for me the glue was inside the helmet I let the bottom of the lenses unglued
to let some ventilation in so they don't fog up
Thanks again for the advice guys.
Use an ice cube it will shrink the clue on plastic or other hard parts. Hot water works ok for fabrics but its like gum and becomes entangled in the fibers of the fabric so I would use both hot and cold with fabrics.
when you do your new lens, try glueing in with e-6000 glue. it's a lot easier to remove. basically like rubber cement, only stronger. bought some @ joann fabrics for $5 a tube. been using it a lot on my clone build.
