glueing chest and back?

Post by DeafTrooper »

has anyone with a clonetrooper suit tried glueing 1 side of the chest/back piece together and just using velcro and the other side? i know on kev's site he shows it with both sides velcroed but i have been thinking about doing this to make it easier to put the costume on. wanted to see if anyone else had any successes/failures with this idea before i try it.

The problem with doing that is:

1. You will crack it after taking it on and off a few times
2. There needs to be a seam on both sides, so you could glue it, but the seam needs to be visible still.

I have velcro on both sides, but I just open one side up. I use a backer plate on the inside were I put the velcro on and it flexes nice with out cracking.

Hope that helps.
