Vacum-forming vs fiberglass

Post by Titus3643 »

hey all, before i get knee deep in my animated trooper i wanted to do a version 2 star-killer from the TFU2 so i had something to troop in besides armor on lazy day and my girl friend wants to do a Juno eclipse, i had some questions and need opinions on how to do the hard bits.

so basically it comes down to either making a mold and having it vacuum formed or making a template and working with glass and resin. i've worked with fiber glass before just not to this level. here's a pic of what i need to do, the right shoulder pauldron and back plate. as far as i know this may be a legion first so i need to be perfect and im already guessing ill have to make more then one

There are three or four Force Unleashed SL's in the Legion now. Their costumes are based off game one.

I'd go with resin or fiberglass. If it's vac formed you won't get the crisp edges that you can with a negative mold.
