Can rebel scum hang with the cool kids?

I have a question regarding differences in membership between the rebel legion and the 501st. This morning my Chewbacca costume was formally approved and I have been granted membership in the "Great Lakes base of the Rebel Legion" However, I have been coming to this website for an updated list of events. I assume that I can attend these events even though they are listed only on the 501st website? Is there extra access for forums/content on either website once you have an approved costume? I recently had a discussion with a kind sir working the Detroit Comic Con booth who gave me the impression that they may be combining websites into a single site in the future? Sorry for my ignorance/confusion.

Congrats on the approval ! Are you the guy from Mount Pleasant? We now have a combined website that we use with the rebel legion for all events. Your welcome to mingle in the old one but over time, this new website will be where all members rebellion or 501st will be able to see every event.

Yes Dr Bones, I live in Mt. Pleasant. It was great to hear from Dan that there is a good group of people not too far away in Midland, I'm guessing your one of them

Thank you Lumpy! I was blown away by your costume last year at the Detroit comic con but was too embarrassed as a 40 year old man to walk up and have a photo taken with you. Since then it has been an obsession of mine to make a costume similar to yours. I had no trouble waiting in line to get my photo taken with you this year!

Can't wait to see your costume, Johnny. How tall are you with the costume on?

I think you're the only 501st or Rebel Legion member around Mt. Pleasant, but you're 30 min from Midland and 60 min from Lansing, so at least you can go either direction to those two cities when they have events.

I was measured at 7'4'' in my costume. I think I'll be a tad shorter than Lumpy based on the photo above. I've seen your costume (I think it was you) and it looks awesome. The nice thing about Mt. Pleasant is I can be anywhere in Michigan, not counting the UP, in less than a three hour drive. Hope to meet everyone soon!

Yes that's me.
I haven't measured myself totally suited up, but I know I'm 7'4" without the mask on, so I'm guessing I'm about 7'6" or 7'7". But you won't squeak when you walk!!!

I am 1/8 inch shy of being 6'8''. I'm planning doing an imperial costume next, but I think my options are only Darth Vader or a Royal Guard due to my height. I'd love to do a stormtrooper but I'm worried I'd have a lot of black showing between armor pieces.

Well, you're a little taller (barefoot) then all of the Vaders we have in Michigan, so Chewie is a great option for you!

Your garrison mate you find the right armor for you.

I feel your pain. Like you, I always wanted to be a TK but at 6'6" it kinda looks goofy. You would be a bit goofy.
