Would this get approval??
Would this get approval??
Just checking to see if the general consensus is as to whether this costume would get approval (or how close it is if not). It's not the greatest picture, but it looks fairly good to my untrained eye at least.

Re: Would this get approval??
I'm also wondering what type of weapon would be appropriate for that costume.
Would it be this:

or something more like a regular TK blaster???

Re: Would this get approval??
It would need some tweaks to get approved.
The blaster is the style correct for a Biker Scout.

The black strap holster has to go , same with the emblem. I would have to see it closer to see but $2000??? I don't think so. The blaster really should be the Scout blaster pistol, fits in the boot holster. I bet with a few minor tweeks it would be nice. Rip knows best.

Obviously 2 grand is out of the question, but what would bea more appropriate price for this?
Sorry to keep coming with the questions, but I don't have the time and, more importantly, the talent to do all the forming and painting that many of you have done so well and worked so hard on. If I can't find a costume that is close to approvable, I'm out of luck.

Re: Would this get approval??
Anything under $700 would be fair, i am currently building a Scout and i will list the average costs so far
Armor $375 - 475
flight suit $35 - 100
Helmet 100-300
cumberbund and pouches 100-150
boots 50-100
blaster $30-80
$685- $1205
I got some good deals here and there and have around $600 into mine so far and have spent hours and hours of building. The Scout is a fairly simple build compared to other armours. I just spent around 7 hours making my boots, but i think that is the hardest part of the build.
I would say if you really like to armor and you have the funds, pick it up and we will help you get what you need to get approved. The pic is to small to give an accurate appraisal but it looks like it wouldn't take much

Thanks propman.
I'll see how high it gets.
I emailed the person selling the costume and he said it was approved by the 70th garrison so I think you're right that it wouldn't take much to be ready.
I'm currently high at $500 with 3 days left. I hate waiting

Re: Would this get approval??
Well I won the auction for the blaster, now all I need is the costume. We'll see what we can do. I know I might have to overpay a bit because it's already assembled and everything, but I'm not going to go totally crazy with this. Will update later.
Re: Would this get approval??

Hopefully by the time the autism walk at the Palace rolls around, I'll be ready to join you all. I'm really looking forward to it!!!!

And the best way to see what kind of mods you need to make is the physical way!
But in seriousness, if it was already approved by the 70th Explorers Garrison, try to find out who the seller is. Somebody might know the person!
Congrats!

Re: Would this get approval??
That's cool propman. Thanks.
It's interesting, though. I looked at the members of the 70th garrison and all 3 of the pictured biker scouts are women. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I contacted the costume seller with my sizes and they said the costume would fit fine (down to the boots and everything). At 6 foot, 195 pounds with a size 11 shoe, I don't think my sizes would fit any of the ladies I saw.
If I get time I'll go through and see if anyone has a biker scout costume along with something else and just pictured the other costume.

Re: Would this get approval??
Go here (if you have not already done so) to get Biker Scout information:
http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?autocom=portal
This is an official 501st Detachment.
I built my wife's Biker Scout costume, so I am very familiar as what needs to be done for approval.

Re: Would this get approval??
It's possible that the Garrison site isn't updated simultaneously with the Legion site, because I saw on the 70th's Garrison page that they actually have 5 TBs, one of whom is male. The Legion roster list might have more, or the person was a transfer, or any number of reasons, really.
