I have been so busy building my armor and building neckseals to pay for it, I forgot to do a work in progress thread. So since I actually had a minute last night I took some picures of the pieces I was working on. I have all the armor construction complete, bondo'ed sanded and primered. I have the body, arms and head painted white and have started doing the gray and blue. I needed to do another coat of glazing putty to makes the legs ready for paint. So here is what I have so far. Enjoy, comments welcome.

Newest work. Got the blue on the body and shoulders. As well as the gray on the lower back and butt. I also go the hanging hardware on the backplate and inside the backpack. I used 1/4 inch post screws, and #12 Screw Hole Keyhole Fasteners. All from Lowe's $1.04 each. Then in the lower corners I put rare earth magnets- 19mmX3mm. I glued these in by coverin them with Devcon plastic welder so it made a shell over the magnet. I did the same on the inside of the backplate opposite the magnets in the backpack. The paint is Delta acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby. The color is Denim with a few drops of black added. I brushed it on, then went over it with a dry sea spong, then took a craft stick (popsicle stick) and went wild adding scratches and lines. I still need to sand it a bit, but that is where I got before the boring bowl today.

To answer Jaster, I am using Valspar black and gray primer under everything, then I use Krylon Gray primer for the outer gray on the chest and backpack. Then I tape off the gray and add Valspar flat white for the rest of the plain white areas. That is what most of the Sev's I have talked with use.
To answer SL2280 I am using game captures, and he is basically covered in red from the knee down. I used a digital projector to shoot the actual game images onto the legs and did my lines that way, so they are as close to matching as I think I can get. I still have to sand down spots to add depth, but I wanted to post pics of the suit pre-weathered.

Hey Wags, I need to get my hands on a Cushman DC-17. I don't have his phone number anymore. He sold me one last time for like $45 or something like that. I bought the pistol with it. He gives me a military discount, but I can't find his stuff to contact him. You said you lived by him and knew him I thought....so could you please get ahold of him for me and see how much it would be for 2 Republic Commando DC-17 Blaster Rifles. I am in Grand Rapids. Let me know. My cell is (616) 719-6128. Give me a call, and get me your contact info so we can talk Scorch!! Thanks brother, Aaron
