Hello all,
I am about to have my first suit of plastic armor made, and I am a new to costuming. Is there any common mods I should ask for? Such as room for cooling fans?
It is RT-mod armor.
Thx.

Re: mod question
Fans, voice amps, canvas belt. Are all things you can add later on. Just go to radio shack and buy some pc fans and wire it up and your good to go.
RT mod is nice stuff, I used to have it

Re: mod question
I recommend waiting until you have your armor in hand, because everyone's needs are different. Some mods work for some people, others don't, which is the beauty of costuming: we all do our own thing that works for us individually, since we're the ones spending hours inside hot and uncomfortable plastic.
Many troopers can fit their heads inside AP helmets, for example, and still have room for stuff. But I couldn't, which is why I had to either stick with FX or ultimately bought the RT which I did. The RT has slightly more space inside than AP (so that I could install two fans), but not nearly as clunky and awkward like an FX, which, for a person my size, prevented me from turning my head.
Modifications and adjustments will take a long time, and you'll find that the first time wearing it at an event will show you where you need to make more
It never ends, so kick back and enjoy it!
