Carrie Ivey's earliest Star Wars memory takes her back to when she saw Empire Strikes Back in the theatre. "Luke losing his hand freaked me out! I spent the rest of the movie curled up in a ball in my seat, covering my eyes and ears. It wasn't until that last few years when I can watch that part without flinching", says Carrie.

Carrie's inspiration for joining the 501st Legion happened while attending Celebration II, her first convention ever, and meeting several 501st members. "I was floored by how cool armor was", says Carrie. Her husband, Jason Ivey, TK-873, already had stormtrooper armor and they decided it would be even more fun to troop as a team so he built her armor before Celebration III.

Since joining, Carrie has participated in over 50 events. When asked what her favorite is, she says, "There are so many it is hard to choose! It's probably the opening of the Magic of Myth exhibit in Boston in October 2005. Jason and I were lucky enough to meet and be photographed with George Lucas. He actually thanked US for being there! That was a magical moment! But, I have also thoroughly loved all the small events where the payoff is making kids smile."

Being a part of the 50st has changed her life. "Well, it wasn't completely the 501st, but Star Wars fandom in general, allowed me to meet my husband", says Carrie.

When asked about her board name of MiraxTHorn, Carrie says "Mirax is my favorite Expanded Universe character. I see a lot of myself in her. I'd also LOVE to be a hot shot pilot like she is!"

Outside of the Legion, Carrie used to be a teacher. She taught middle school History and Spanish, but in 2007, she received a "promotion" to stay-at-home mom. "Jason and I have three children – Noah (4), Micaiah (2.5) and Abigail (1). They keep me VERY busy", says Carrie. "They are my greatest, though unfinished, accomplishment.

Carrie is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in History and Oakland University with a Teaching Certificate and minor in Spanish.

Her other hobbies include sewing, singing, reading, traveling, camping, and skiing.
