Matthew Wolf (TK 7555) was inspired to join the 501st Legion while attending the "Out of this World" event in 2008 at the Henry Ford. "I was already planning a Star Wars themed birthday party for my four year old daughter and then I got to see the Great Lakes Garrison in action", says Matthew.

He was hooked, but his love for Star Wars goes back a few years. "I have always been a Star Wars fan and my earliest Star Wars memory takes me back to when I saw 'Return of the Jedi' in the theatre in 1983", says Matthew.

After seeing the Great Lakes Garrison in action he knew that he wanted to join. In March of 2009 he completed his stormtrooper armor and joined the ranks of the 501st Legion. Since then he has trooped eleven events. He had participated in conventions, birthday parties, and concerts. When asked what has been his favorite event, his reply Star Wars in Concert at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

"There were so many fans who loved seeing us and they were taking a lot pictures, it was great fun", says Matthew. "Joining the Legion has changed my life. I have met so many committed and passionate members who are a pleasure to be around and troop with. It has also been very rewarding to see kids of all ages so excited to interact with the GLG!"

When Matthew is not imposing the will of the galactic empire, he works as an independent insurance agent with a family business for auto, home, life and business insurance. Besides spending time with his wife and two daughters he really enjoys hockey, golf, cycling, bowling, photography, as well as computers and technology. He has an MBA from Wayne State University.
